    Thanks for the reply. Not seen 5 inch or 125 any where. Been trying to get pretty close to the right size as having some health issues and getting power tools out is killing me at the moment.

    You are right, I actually didn't use 15mm. 12.5mm is what I used. Sorry for the confusing numbers given.

    Yes sorry, it is the width of the wall so width of jamb needed.

    Hi all. Thanks for the replies. For some reason I was not notified of the posts. Basically it is cls stud and 2 x 15mm plasterboard with 3mm plaster on each side. Would have thought they would do a lining that width. Regards Lee

    Hi. Thanks for the reply and advice. If I can use galvanised strapping then that is great. I don't want to pack the gap as that then takes the joists out of level. Want to keep them and the sole plate down!

    Just spoke to an old carpenter, firm manager and he said no problem. I have thought about what you said as well so will do. These sleeper walls are solid and not honeycomb construction so not sure if that helps or not. Thanks for your help
