    Bosch GTX10XC - SOLD

Would you be happy to post / have this couriered? If so and we can keep it down to a reasonable (sub £25) cost for postage, I would take the complete package, inc drawers. Thanks, Jamie

    Building into a slope...

No comments on the structure of the retaining or otherwise wall - geotextile-wrapped or capped drainage pipe though yes and the other suggestion is to run the gravel to the surface not on a vertical fill but away from your wall at 45 degrees. I've seen this suggested as lecia fill in green...

    Old School Worktop Patchy Finish

Unlikely that I am a better man than Kevin but I have done a similar thing with very similar looking timber and I just waxed it a couple of times - one thing though, I noted that it remained quite "pore-y" even when sanded down through the grits so gave it a wipe with white spirit after the...

    Poor service.

No need to worry about this now - as you should have been told, they've gone bust!

    Diamond Stones

Thanks both Custard and ED65 for taking the time to reply - Waterstones and strops seem reasonably easy to pick up - but the abrasive papers less so. Workshop Heaven stock a range by 3M down to something like 8000 grit but Axminster 'only' go as far as 2500 grit. Any other outlets worth...

    Diamond Stones

Jumping on this as I use the same stones (600 - 1000 - 1200 usually, sometimes without the 1000) - what do I need to use after this to make a hand plane truely sharp? Note: I know I'm dropping the S-bomb but this is a genuine question! Do I need another step as I currently don't do anything...

    Poor service.

We're with them too - cheapest tariff out there last I looked, that's the only reason why as I agree their service is rubbish. They recently got a formal telling off from the regulator specifically about not charging the appropriate rate according to the usage / readings, poor communications, etc...

    We needed a mirror........

I think that's great too, and I was further reassured to see that I am not alone with a shed / workshop that might need a tidy...

Screwfix Deal on Scheppach HA1000 Dust Extractor (£100)

Thanks for the feedback everyone - we are talking ribbons rather than tiny bits. I should probably sweep then vacuum but the asthmatic vacuum I have suffers with just general dust so I'll likely have to fork out for a new one of them too. I was just wondering if this might do both jobs but...

Screwfix Deal on Scheppach HA1000 Dust Extractor (£100)

https://www.screwfix.com/p/scheppach-ha1000-183m-hr-dust-extractor-240v/15408 Is this a reasonable deal for a beginner - hand tools mainly. My workshop floor is ankle deep in shavings and obviously a 'normal' vacuum clogs up quickly. A bit of small power tool work also makes a bit of finer...

    Durability of chestnut fencing

We have fencing in this style put in after the farm was opencasted in the 1940-50's. This fencing is therefore at least 60 and when it hasn't been lent on by large farm animals, is in fantastic condition still. I've reused a few rails as coat racks, etc with just a sand and wax, and I've got a...

    Chippie's Tools

Hi Ed - I spoke to you a bit ago about a guage and a potential 5 1/2 plane too - have I missed something from you? I did send my details by PM? No problem if I've missed out - didn't want to mess you around though if you were waiting for something for me? Cheers, Jamie

    Planning permission & expiry

The other slightly strange bit to these is that the building regulations you work to are theoretically those in place when you asked for building regulations approval so if you originally had building regulations approval on your plans for both parts being compliant and only had one signed off...

    Network drives and broadband routers?

Horses for courses - we've a sonos connect which will stream to your existing amp via co-ax output. Newer version might have a digital out too. There is a more expensive one with an amp built in that you don't need. It does get you into the sonos system though, decide yourself if this is a...

    Chippie's Tools

Hi, Very thoughtful gesture as others have said - if not spoken for, I would love the "Gateshead Eng" marked sliding gauge, mainly as its just up the road and a couple of any remaining shaves, mainly to use for practing with. Couldn't see for certain on the planes, but if there was anything...
