Cheers, got it off after completely soaking it in wd40 + LOTS of force/wiggling + actually there was a special kind of twist and turn you had to do to manoeuvre it off. So much Gunk which had just glued itself together.. After sanding it and finishing with a coat of oil, came up really nice.

Is it all about the technique/holding the plane or is there some sort of special trick (except messing up your finger/knuckle)? When jointing edges ,however I try, I just can't get constantly totally 90deg. precise edges, without spending an awful amounts of time with a square.
