Yes Spectric that was my original post. I have done all I can with the machine. The not running great may be because of the drive bearing. I just don't know. The more important issue of the breaking is most likely a motor issue. That's why I asked for help here. I'm a novice. I try my best. I...

Things appear to be a little different on the forum now.

As much as I hate to encourage people I feel I must respond to this needless scathing post from deema. I thought I’d better revisit my original post and see how ungrateful I actually was. “Wow, how ungrateful! I looked at your thread on your BS400, your question was vague, ‘I’ve got vibration’...

Minimum Atmospheric CO2 percentage for plant life!

I agree with you Spectric. I don't actually have a problem with Asian manufactured goods, but I do prefer to buy goods that are made closer to home if I can. In my case, just for environmental and economic reasons. I just don't have an appetite for suppliers who sell goods that suggest they...

Minimum Atmospheric CO2 percentage for plant life!

The fact that it is raised on here speaks volumes. As for your question, the BS400 is a very common bandsaw. When I was green and bought into the Brittish made thing, I bought Record Power equipment, Now I know better, Its made in China. I don't buy it.

Minimum Atmospheric CO2 percentage for plant life!

I use this forum as I try to learn and there are/were some very helpful people on here who were willing to help the less informed. I use it less these days as I find the content of less interest to me. The last question I asked on here regarding issues with my BS400 went pretty much unanswered...

I don't often get wild cherry this size

Wild cherry is prolific down here in Brittany, but I rarely get 45cm tree. I hope to get some nice bowls from these pieces.

    Tuff blades seller in EU?

Quite rightly, Tuffsaw baldes are highly recommended on this forum. However, as it appears they will only supply blades to customers on the British mainland. It would be interesting to know where and who manufacturers the blades that they sell. It may help us who can no longer buy our blades...

    Tuff blades seller in EU?

OK no problems Tibi. If you need anything you can PM me. Anything I have shipped to Jersey comes net of VAT so that's a significant discount and would more than cover the shipping from France to Slovakia. At the moment I'm happy with the Axminster blades, however, if you have any luck finding...

    Tuff blades seller in EU?

Ah that's a shame tibi. I would be happy to order any blades you need and send them to you. I get free shipping from Axminster on any order over £50 and I don't expect it would cost much to send the blades from France to Slovakia. Let me know if I can help.

    Roughing out wet wood

Timing is critical when processing bowl blanks and once you start processing a tree trunk its best if you can finish the process in one sitting. If you have to stop at any point make sure you seal the endgrain of your logs or blanks. Cut your logs to desired size, cut them into bowl blanks...
