Blade for very thin spruce ?

Hello, Considering using a Hegner Multicut SE later in the year for cutting f holes on violins, and Cellos. Not particularly challenging to do by hand but perhaps better by Hegner. I'm new to scroll sawing, don't know what speeds best suit the various materials. So what sort of blade is...

    Stanley 4 scrub plane

Inspired by the video by Paul Sellers on how to make a scrub plane from an old Stanley 4, I made my own version. Basically Sellers just opens the mouth front a little and puts a camber on the blade edge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XN5QSTaVzRQ I took things further by rounding the sole...

New or old lathe, bang for buck.

Hi. If you get what you pay for, what is 'best' quality for a micro lathe ? I see some people use the old lathes and others go for modern stuff. Thanks.

    Scroll saw recomendation ?

Hi, I want to buy a quality scroll saw, for sawing violin heads. Seen ones from Axminster, they look ok but not sure which is best. Needs to saw 2'' thick maple, tight curves, exactly to the line, no wandering on the blade. It's possible to use a coping saw, if you like hard work...

    Record Marples no.3

Hi, My first post on this forum... I have an old Record Marples no.3 that's pretty decent but it has no chip breaker. Had a search and found Veritas ones that cost more than the plane, and rusty old ones on ebay. Are there other chip breakers to fit the no.3 that are worth buying ? Cheers.
