    (TIP) making something out of wood for use outside.

    When I am making something out of wood, that will be used outside or in the garage, I always put a cut down piece of chopping board on the bottom of the feet. It means that a) the wood is not constantly in the damp/wet. b) it also means you are not wearing the "end" of the wood as you move it...

    What height ?

    In the process of getting a new lathe so another re-design of the man cave needed. The question is what is the ideal height for a lathe? Should I be able to hold the tool into the hip? (If so to me it feels a bit low)

    getting a Piano hinge right

    Have done a couple of small boxes, both have been let down by my inability to get the hinges right. I am for the want of a better description making a blanket box. This needs a piano hinge. So my question is how do I get it so when it closes it is just right?

    sanding sealers

    What does a sanding sealer do and should you always use it? Just turned my first piece (oak) and have just used danish oil on it
