Wondering if these ear defenders with inbuilt Bluetooth are any good, has anyone tried them? Stihl and M3 both do them now.

    New Wooden Handled Screwdrivers

I have been using an old set of Stanley type C screwdrivers (the black handled ones) for sometime now and while they are great i could do with longer narrower handled ones more suited to engineering. Gathering the engineering type of these Stanley ones second hand would take ages as they aren’t...

    Photo Sharing

For me its just for sharing on the forum, i like to talk with pictures. Its not about storage. I didn’t realise you could have pictures on the forum directly. Though probably I do want the quality. Looks like I might try imgur and if that does not work will have to sort out my flickr.

    DSG Lathes

A 17 would be ideal. I think a nice one is worth £2000-4000 going by ebay in the past, the only ones that go above that are either huge or rare models like the 17t (would love one of those) and even then I would say very well restored one with re-ground slides and everything is worth £10,000+.

    DSG Lathes

I am looking for a DSG lathe 17inch or smaller in good condition (its important that is reliable). I keep an eye on eBay with 3 differently worded searches, but I thought it was worth seeing if anyone knows of any about that need a good home. Suggestions of other places I could look at...

    Information needed Goodell Pratt 5 1/2 B

Very impressive! You might have said, but is that a dividing head of some sort your using there? It makes me want to learn to do this too, the number of drills I could have restored if I had spare gears! It would definitely be worth taking those sharp edges off gently those teeth with a...

    Bradson Drills

Yeah thats as far as I got too. No one seems to know where they came from.

    Broken Norris Adjuster

I’d get the die for the one you can regardless, it will be useful even if you decide to lathe it. The other you’ll have to do on the lathe.

How to make an Oil Can? Like Kayes, Braimes, etc

Thanks for that James, didn’t know about those sites. I would be interested to see some pics of your collection. What I am actually thinking is to try and make one of these. It seems like it would be easy to do, but hard to do well.

How to make an Oil Can? Like Kayes, Braimes, etc

I really like the kayes oil cans and am actually quite surprised no one has tried to make any to the same standard since.

How to make an Oil Can? Like Kayes, Braimes, etc

Does anyone know how the old oil cans were made? I assume they are made from multiple pressed plates, but its not clear how these were attached together. The old kayes ones in particular look far to neat to be any method of welding or brazing I am aware of.

    Broken Norris Adjuster

I would have thought they would have die cut those. Doing threads that small with a lathe cutter would be challenging to say the least. So your main obstacle to repairing that is finding some appropriate dies.
