    Who else thinks this?

That's literally the most hilarious/ridiculous post I've ever read on the internet. Good job.

    Who else thinks this?

You think it's 'woke' (whatever that means) that something we watch for entertainment now carries a much lower risk of death than it once did. You think this a bad thing and is indicative of humans devolving. I don't know what sort of strange person you must be to value entertainment by how...

    What does this even mean?

    Who else thinks this?

I assume this is satire, if so - bravo.

    Who else thinks this?

When has this ever not been the case? It's just something that lots of English people seem perpetually upset about for no reason.

    Who else thinks this?

I don't think that's true. Since the 2003 tournament, I think ITV has broadcast almost, if not every RWC game live.

Paul Sellers says cap iron position doesn’t matter

Zero-to-minimum skilled people? If these are projects for 'zero-to-minimum skill' hand tool woodworkers, I'd love to know what sort of things 'basic to intermediate' people make, let alone 'moderately advanced' and above. https://woodworkingmasterclasses.com/videos/laptop-desk-info-page/...

    Customs declarations and brexit

    That's your interpretation. I don't agree.

    Customs declarations and brexit

Because the headlines proclaimed the deal as securing tariff free trade. That's "why on earth". My post was a rhetorical one, intended to illustrate the difference between reality and what was promised or implied. I didn't sign up to Brexit anymore than you did. I'm about as anti-Brexit as it...

    Customs declarations and brexit

I thought a tariff free agreement had been agreed? Funny, as I just had to pay £37 import fees for a gift, (value £60) that I sent to Spain.

    Retirement options

41 years here, and the prospect of retirement is what keeps me going in my job. I can't wait. There's so much I want to do and enjoy doing (woodwork for one), but can't do because I spend most of my time bloody working. Realistically, I've got 25-30 years of work left before I'll be able to though.

    Loft Balustrade

I have a loft conversion in progress, and am turning my attention to the stairs and balustrade etc. The spec is for some space saver stairs (on order), that come up into the middle of the room. Behind the opening is a small loft bathroom. The architect has written: "Balustrades to be 900mm high...

Wooden unit in a bathroom - possible or mad?

It'll be absolutely fine. I don't know why people get so worried about wood in bathrooms. Make it from real wood.

Do i actually need a table saw?

I cut big sheets with a handsaw , resting them on sawhorses in the garden, then tidy up the edges with a hand plane. I have a table saw but its not seen any action for several years.

Making toys for 4 year olds

Don't want to sound negative.... but do 4 year old kids really want hand made wooden toys? When I was a kid in the 80s I would have turned my nose up at things like that, I wanted things my friends had, things I'd seen on the TV, things based on cartoons etc. Are you making the toys for your own...

What's the difference between "Trade" and other paint?

I'm a Linseed paint man for external. For internal I use water based eggsell, or linseed if the colour is what I want. I absolutely despite gloss paint. The first coat of linseed paint, thinned with linseed oil and turps smells divine.
