Did you spray water on the paper ? If so it may be where it has soaked through into the plaster.

If you only want rid of it , Cut it up with a metal cutting disc in a angle grinder then in the metal recycling

The wet stone Tormex are good for sharpening a allready existing bevel , And NO good for changing a bevel profile / shape , It would take forever and use up the wheel I own both.

I think if it was me I would assess each machine one at a time and decide if it needs a full strip down and re build , Each one will be very time consuming
