    Sold Drill Press compound table

For sale, large compound table for a pillar drill. I built it from a scrap pantograph engraving machine (hence the very odd silly person marks in the top). It works fine, although the handles on the machine were missing so I have always just used a spanner on the square drives. By an astronomical piece...

Sold Smart and Brown engineering lathe

I know this is not strictly woodwork related, but I know there are a few people on here interested in the dark side! Smart And Brown Lathe Model M mk2. I bought this lathe intending it to be all the machine I would ever need for my home workshop. Plans change though and it's time for it to move...

    Sold Small sagar surface planer

Sagar LT 6" cutter head Surface Planer. Does require a motor. Fantastic for model making or small, fine work maybe even segmented turning pieces? 43" long bed. Does split apart for transport, but it is a heavy little lump. Bearings in good condition. Tilting fence. Both beds move independently...

    Sold Fobco star pillar drill

Fobco Star Pillar Drill. Really fantastic condition - paintwork is original, still has decals in place. Even the original Fobco branded belt. Couple of marks in the table, but not the arc of shame like so many have. Table moves freely on the column, as does the motor mounting bracket for...

For Sale Heavy duty metalwork bench vice

Heavy duty swiveling bench vice. No makers name - from the design I assume it's of far eastern origin, but it's certainly a well made thing. 6"wide jaw. Big anvil section to the rear. Collection from South Leicestershire. £80

For Sale Lathe radius cutter/ball turner

I believe this is a radius wheel dressing tool for a surface grinder. However it would make a fantastic ball turning jig for a wood lathe. Centre height is 5 1/2". I think it is home made, but done very well with adjustable gib key, dovetail slides etc. Could equally be used on an engineering...

    For Sale Vice clear out

Time to thin the herd a little. Collection only on the big ones, sorry. I'm in South Leicestershire. First up is a record 112. Cast steel, 6" wide jaws. Probably one of the best, strongest vices record ever made. Opens to 7". Slight bend in the handle but nothing that affects the way it works...

Sold Meddings 20 speed pillar drill

Meddings M4 Floor Standing Pillar Drill. One of the best featured "small" pillar drills ever made in my opinion. Has a 3 phase, 2 speed motor and a back gear. In combination with the 5 pulley speeds, this gives 20 speeds from 40 to 4000 rpm. I've fitted a new switch as the original was a bit of...

Sold Compound (milling) table for drill press

Really nice small compound table for a drill press. Metric graduations. Moves really smooth, minimal backlash. Not sure if it's European or far eastern - no maker's mark but it seems too nicely finished to be classed as chinesium. Weighs 18 kg so it could be posted but I'd prefer it collected...

How many poles in a motor?

I picked up a powered work head from a surface grinder today. The motor has been cracked, and the name tag is missing. Need to know what speed motor to get to replace it and everything I can find online says "look at the nameplate" or "run it and find out". As both of these options are...

For Sale Yew logs and turning blanks

I have more yew than I know what to do with. I prefer bowl work to spindle turning so I think it's time to thin the stores out a bit. It is all very dry - been in storage in my workshop for about 5 years. Most are pva sealed on the ends, some are painted and some are waxed. Minimal checking on...

    Sold Patternmakers vice

I need to face facts and admit I don't have room for a bench that's going to fit this vice. Reproduction patternmaker vice - an awesome thing if you have a nice chunky bench to fit it to. Apologies for the terrible pics, having phone camera issues. The staining on the jaws is old glue, I assume...

    Mystery tilting jaw vice

New addition to the collection of vices arrived over the weekend. I've no idea who it was made by and I haven't had a good answer from anyone else yet. Lots of people said it looks like a Peter Wright, and it does. It's MUCH heavier than my PW though. 6" wide jaws, weighs 40 kg. Pulling the...

For Sale Kity 0618 table saw

Sad day - I've got to face facts and sell my table saw. I've upgraded to the wadkin in the background, so unfortunately I've got to sell this one. It belonged to my grandad, who bought it new. I've upgraded the fence and mitre gauge to new axminster ones, which are a vast improvement on the...

    Tool ID

It's not often I can stump @toolsntat but I managed it with this one. These two "things" came in a job lot of engineering tooling, but I don't recognise what they are. They're both tapered along the full length, with a very strange profile. Anyone got any idea?
