    its not just parcelforce

They use standard size boxes so they know how many can fit in vehicles etc. its kind of logical if you think of it from their end.

    Changing gas n electric suppliers...

Maybe the long term "plan" is that with smart meters they could feesably charge more for gas/electric between 4PM and Midnight, and 6am-9am (as examples) Kind of like the reverse premise of Eco7 I presently set the dishwasher to run at around 3am, and the washing machine tends to get set to...

    Changing gas n electric suppliers...

I fitted a hive to my dads place so that I can help them fiddle with the heating (just moved into a new house so dont know how it'll be have compared to the last place) and has saved me several trips over just to sort that out... imho its paid for itself already  That was an outright...

    LeD lighting

These LED tapes dont really chuck out much heat at all. I've a 5M run that pulls around 1.1Amps on full bore, so thats about 13.2Watts. Id reckon, as its an older set, that its around 30LED/M, so thats 0.08W/LED A modern LED may pull a bit more but its marginal, and not like the CREE LED...

    Changing gas n electric suppliers...

Not nessececarilyyy, BG do sometimes "lease" you a hive depending on the sales technique they used. Something like £3/Month forever. Yes you can buy outright, and many do, but some have been sold it as above due to the claims of cheaper heating etc.

    LeD lighting

Ignore lumens, its a BS statement, and thats before you get into chinese lumens  300/5M is about the minimum you want, 600 would be dandy but (obviously) doubles power consumption on the same run Not see 4 side by side before, they tend to be single rows

How is Cycprus for letting stuff in from China? I have for my under cupboard lights in the kitchen, a couple of reels worth of eBay China LED stip, not waterproof, not expensive and has lasted a good 4-5 years even over the kettle. On full power they are properly bright, and I know you can get...

    keyless car theft

Sadly we are already seeing the cost of track days increase lots as the NIMBYS move near a race track and then find out its noisy because thats what it does :( When it becomes the only outlet for this kinda thing the cost will be so prohibative it'll be like horse riding now  I'm somewhat...

    keyless car theft

I mean the case where you are in your 1970's carbed car waiting to pull out of a side street, you see an automated car in the line of flow and just pull out as you know full well that will avoid you (as opposed to someone else in the 1970's car who "might not"). Its either segregation until...

    keyless car theft

IMHo, "driverless cars" will only work if they are kept in their own area of the road/towns/cities. Human nature (except for the Japanese, because they all seem to follow the rules and think us western folk are mental), means we will always fight the system/do something to annoy it. e.g. if we...

    keyless car theft

Software has been in cars for years, its the dodgy linking of systems with a somewhat slack attitude to cyber security that is of concern. By all means have systems that can report back, just sack off the OTA idea

    34 rubbish emails this morning

Some of the more obvious spam, tends to use the "unsubscribe" link as a proof of life for an email address and then sends you more

    Media player?

Is your MP3 collection stored on a hard disc somewhere? or something you can port to a big ass USB stick? Depending on the levels of faff, you could go for a Google Chromecast Audio and usie digital out to the Amp and then use a pc to "cast" to it. or maybe a NOW TV box with the usb stick...
