Does being right or lft-handed determine which way round a room you go when painting ?

I don't think it has any effect on the actual painting but could when it comes to cutting in, for me it is left to right or right to left depending on location and light.

Anyone got one of these? wiring issue, help appreciated.

That wiring diagram is a little ambiguous, the up/down buttons only have a single wire and the power switch looks like it just shorts out the battery C, You will need to spend some time tracing the actual wiring. You need to look at this as two parts, one is the battery and charger system...

Where can I find an electrical contractor for an old motor

Thats a blast from the past, the old star delta starters were once common in industry for large motors but now just use soft starters as they deliver many other benefits as well. The ABB ones are really good and allow the use of a bypass...

    Removing a wash hand basin

If the problem is just a blocked trap then maybe use a chemical unblocker overnight and then a plunger next day which could save you a lot of hassle. https://www.screwfix.com/p/monument-tools-master-plunger-200-150mm/34513

    Removing a wash hand basin

depends on the age, solid fixings were once used but would be evident, then we used brackets that used rubber bungs that expanded when tightened that went into holes in the rear of the sink but with torch and mirror should also be evident and now it seems the trend is for mastic / silicon on...

    Disc Sander - which one?

Have you thought about a belt and disc sander, could be more versatile than just a disc. I have this version which is the same as another from Axminster. https://www.toolden.co.uk/p/sip-01946-4-x-8-belt-disc-sander/...

Where can I find an electrical contractor for an old motor

You might wish to edit the title of your thread because a contractor is someone who would perform the task, you need a replacement contactor and it might just be easier / cheaper to buy a replacement DOL unit than mess around looking for parts.

Do I need a track saw / table saw?

I think for std size sheets this idea is great, as we age we do struggle more with material handling so anything to help is a bonus. Your supersized sheets are another problem, do you need that size or is it a case of that is the size for that material ?

Kitchen worktop - am I doing it right?

When you see this then you are removing more material than needed, as @Doug71 has said, that last pass is just a cleanup which is not removing 10mm. What make of jig and size cutter are you using ?

Armouring internet cable under grave driveway

Nothing really because the major difference is that with copper you are only dealing with electrical signals but with fibre you need to convert the optical signal into electrical which is where the ONT comes into play, I think of it as a modem that handles light transmision. At this point you...

Do I need a track saw / table saw?

I can see that feature of getting a vertical sheet horizontal is handy, I can also see that the idea / concept looks to have been taken from a plasterboard lifter which goes one step further in that it can raise the horizontal board upto the ceiling for fixing. I cannot see why there are not...

    Deadman Foot Switches

Only in an industrial enviroment where that is a requirement to meet PUWER regs. In the home workshop you can use basic on/off switches, DOL's or the cheap versions that come fitted to a lot of machinery but it is not a must have because the only person responsable for your safety is you who...

    Deadman Foot Switches

My pillar drill had a DOL starter , I just rewired this to incorporate the contactor and OL but no latching as with the footswitch it is not required as it acts as a deadmans switch but gives me two hands free to use the drill.

Why are some router tables made up of cast iron but not others?

I think one way of summing up why people make this or that is simple, we enjoy the jourmey as much if not more than the destination.
