    Power washer service

I bought a cheap Chinese power washer, 3600psi. It's actually performing quite well. I've attached a passage from the manual which recommends the first oil change after 20 hours running. I'm in or about that now however I've never heard of flushing with kerosene before, is that a thing?

    Removing paint from cement

The paint on this old house is terrible. I paid two guys about 3 yrs ago to paint it but it has deteriorated badly. I think it needs sanded back to the cement, sealed, primed and painted to make a proper job of it. As they say, if you want something done right, do it your self. So that's what...

    Rayburn oil stove/range

Since my retirement, I am not producing enough waste to feed my wood burning stove. I am considering replacing it with a Rayburn or similar oil burner. I need to produce hot water for the tap and 10 radiators. I've heard conflicting reports about what can and can't be done with them and some...

    3d confusion.

I've had my printer for a little while now and very impressed with it and myself.:) There's one niggle, when I design something say 220mm long. export it as .stl, slice it, print it, and measure it. It will be a few mm short. Is there a handy fix, Or will experience show me how much to increase...

    24v dc fans

One of my ongoing part time projects is ventilating this old house. I have an almost adequate system at present, but recently acquired two 24v centrifugal fans. They have four wires 1 pos 1 neg 1 input for speed control and 1 output for a tachometer if desired. May be I've got it wrong? So...

    Cooker hood modification

I don't get into metal work much, but I need to modify my cooker hood. As per attached pics I need to make an opening to facilitate the recirculation gubbins. It's less than a mm thick. It would be handy if I could use my router with a metal cutting bit, or is there a better way?

    Co2 in the home

We've had a few very informative threads regarding humidity, condensation etc but I don't recall any about Co2. I bought this old house about 5 years ago, installed double glazing etc,etc no more draughty sash windows, new PVC back door no more draughty doors. But considering it was built in...

    Wheelie bin dust collector.

I been having problems with the structural integrity of one of my collection bins. Today I came into possession of a new green wheelie bin with the intention of using it as a super collector. I'm quite disappointed to see how flimsy it is and now I'm wondering if it's up to the job. Has...
