Axminster Table Saws - What happened?

Don't know where you are but a quick search on eBay pops up a Fox cast iron saw for £650. Not mine. It's generic SIP, Itech and multiple other badged the same. Cast iron strong and accurate. I'm very pleased with mine

Itech 260S with Spiral cutter head - First impressions

I'm looking to upgrade from my old Elektra Beckum hc260 which has served me well. I like the look of the Itech 260s. Can anyone please give me an update on it's performance and how they like it after they have owned it for a while now. It certainly looks worth £1500. Many thanks

Planer Thicknesser Advice - Record Power/Metabo/Axminster

I have the Electra Beckum HC260, now Metabo but it's a widely available generic design. It's been fine for hobby use but I'd like something a bit more solid. I'm tempted by the Itech 260 with the spiral block. What's your budget? If you can stretch to that it's not much more than the Axminster...

American pork chop style guards in UK?

Interesting. I thought they were probably not allowed in a pro shop. Mike’s thread is worth some thought. Thanks for that

American pork chop style guards in UK?

Are the American pork chop style guards on planer thicknessers allowed over here? Never see them. Can’t say I’m a big fan of the over and under guards. Although they do keep the blades covered at all times. The swing type guard covers the portion of blades not covered by the timber. Any thoughts?

    Router buying advice

I really like the Triton MOF001. It is designed for dual use handheld or in a router table. You can adjust the height From above the table with the included winder handle and it auto locks the spindle. No need for a router lift. Have a quick look on YouTube

    Wet stone grinder accessories

There is a billion videos on YouTube. No need for a dvd. Officially you can sharpen with the stone rotating towards you or away from you. Towards you is faster. Only use the strop rotating away from you. A cheap square seed tray or suchlike is good to catch the Drips, saves the bench.

    SIP 12" Table Saw Wiring

The startup current trips the breaker when running on a normal 13amp supply. The previous owner got fed up with the mcb tripping. Instead of fitting a 16amp blue plug and socket from a 20amp type c radial, they botched it with the copper wire. It's a simple job to fix and do it right. Good luck

    Finishing Tamped Concrete

Actually, it was just Leyland garage floorpaint. Paint flakes from eBay. Sprinkle flakes on 2nd coat when wet, 1m area at a time. Flakes stick. Leyland do a clear floor paint which I used as the top coat.

    Finishing Tamped Concrete

I had great results on my tamped garage floor using Setcrete High Performance Floor Levelling Compound - 20kg from Wickes. It is a final ware surface but I also painted it and added flakes. Looks great and was easy. Vac floor, prime then Mix in a plasters bucket with drill and paddle. Dump it...
