    Helping out a family member

I don't think you should block their numbers. Just be honest with them and say no thanks every time they reach out. They will have more respect for you when the reality hits them and will indeed figure out you didn't need the job in the first place.

    Aqualisa Shower

Update: I did a 'bush' fix with the cable where it was severed as a test and it worked a treat. The replacement should arrive today. Thanks to you all.

    Aqualisa Shower

I have retrieved the cable which has 6 cores and I very much doubt it’s an RJ11 I was hoping to repair it but I might have to buy a new one

    Aqualisa Shower

I was just looking at the replacement cable and just to be clear Is the plug an RJ45 or RJ11? It’s hard to tell from the photos and there is nothing in the description. They seem quite expensive as I have put together quite a few cables with RJ45s or possibly once or twice done ones with RJ11s

    Aqualisa Shower

It didn’t occur to me to check the label but I will do as soon as I can get back there. The thought of rodents chewing through it did cross my mind. But like I said earlier my knowledge is limited and I’ll have to investigate and determine where that cable was connected to assuming it was

    Aqualisa Shower

I know virtually nothing about power showers. The MIL complained that her power shower was out of action and I went to investigate. There appears to be power going to the shower and a cable on the left attached to the shower unit in the loft. I pulled this cable gently only to find it came loose...

    Large garden planter design

made with 12mm plywood and the pot is on the floor. I am unable to load the second photograph. The planter is 3x longer but I lined the inside with thick plastic sheeting and then I inserted 30mm long plastic pipes to allow the water to drain and sealed around this with silicone.

    I’m lost

I'll have to try a different tool. The one I got is a Draper which I thought would be up to the job. Anything to avoid having to take the worktop and the sink out to replace the tap as the entire thing is all being replaced something in the Spring.

    I’m lost

Just to confirm it’s the tap that’s dripping I forgot to upload the photo I took of the parts I changed Are you guys saying the tap can be replaced with that tool?
  18. R

    I’m lost

I have changed the1/2” BSP glands on this tap but it’s still dripping. Any ideas I was going to change the tap but it seems to involve me having to remove the worktop and butler sink🫣🫣😡😡🥵🥵

    Alarm and security cameras Help

My advice is ensure all the camera are wired using cat 5e or 6. This single cable would deliver power to the cameras from the dedicated NVR What brand you choose is another question. The likes of Hikvision and Dahua are popular but read into it what you may as the UK & US governments are against...

    Stable floor conversion

I am planning on converting an old stable block to a workshop. The floor is currently cobblestone and I’m thinking the way forward is to apply a dpm like the ones used below a course of bricks. I’ll then rest 4x2 on this and then level if off, PIR insulation and then plywood. The stable block...
