Kids Building blocks with a 3040 CNC

A short video I made of carving a set of kids building blocks with a 3040 CNC router. LNwwIlgdcf8 Col.

    a kids building block trolley

Does anyone have suggestions what sort or wood and finish might be suitable for making a trolley and set of building blocks for a 1 year old? I envisage carving letters and numbers on each face of the blocks and my main concerns would be to do with toxicity, durabilty, and how well they'd carve...

    Marmite Cheeses anyone?

I only realised while I was eating them what a truly acquired taste marmite really is. My first reaction was "ooo... these are mild" but I was already eating them by then and you wanted the FULL review so here it is; "WTF?" he thought as he eyed up the suspiciously familiar logo on the...

Now everyone can have their own CNC :-)

Something I just found on youtube that raised a smile. Probably not too difficult to replicate with a scroll saw. bD_EKzmoFgM Col.

    Dolls House

Not all done on the scroll saw by any means but hopefully still of interest. It's a 12th scale replica of our park home made as a gift for our 9 year old great grand daughter. 5XeWKJLBsQE I'll be making another clip of it shortly with all the furniture in. Col.

80mm square hardwood in south sumbria?

I'm after enough square hardwood stock to make a set of table legs but not one of the local firms I've found are able to supply it. Ideally 4 identical pieces of rough sawn stock each one being 32" long and anywhere between 3" and 4" square. Delivery to South Cumbria would also be a massive...

Have you had any dealing with uktoolcentre.co.uk ?

I've just bought a router from uktoolcentre.co.uk for £124.50 including VAT and I'm mightly p*ssed to have just got an email saying it's cleared UK cutoms where it's been sat for the last 3 days. Given that the purchase price clearly stated "Inc VAT" an extra 3 days delivery time from a UK web...

some scroll saw elements in this

I wasn't sure whether to post this in here but what the heck, even though it's not a traditional scroll saw project it does feature several scroll sawn items that might offer someone a distraction from the upcoming more seasonal patterns. ;-) Darryl's Magnetic Marble Machine:- gBeCHEw5F_Y

    Router Lathe WIP

I've just started putting a small diy router lathe together from a set of plans I drew up in sketcup if anyone's interested in seeing few photos of the build. http://www.seafax.co.uk/index.php?id=router-lathe - my forthcoming web page about it kfSScCSpbpA...

525 internal cuts then the good stuff starts

I've almost finished cutting out all the parts for what I'm calling "an Admiral's Clock", which in addition to a normal clock will also feature a storm glass in the right hand tower, a galileo thermometer in the left, a moon phase clock (bottom left) and a tide clock (bottom right). I also have...

Taylor Guitars "The State of Ebony" (Bob Taylor Video)

Having only just recently aquired an interest in guitar making I was shocked to find out how little of it there is left in the world. If you aren't already aware of this video I can highly recommend it. Taylor Guitars "The State of Ebony" - Bob Taylor Video...

    Uk Wood Suppliers

With a littel bit of luck if everyone adds links to their favourite wood supplier we could build up a pretty comprehensive list here. I have a semi-heirloom type project on at the mo (a clock) that calls for quite a bit of 6mm and 3mm timber and I've gone with 6mm marine ply and 3mm Superior...

    Woven scroll saw basket

I first came across this idea a couple of years ago (see http://lumberjocks.com/projects/53294 and http://lumberjocks.com/Leldon/blog/25317) but the plans mentioned in the blog appear to have disapeared so reverse-engineering how it was made I've come up with a design of my own. NB. This...

    Workshop clearance companies?

Does anyone know of any companies around W. Yorks who specialise in clearing out woodworking shops? I have a garage full of hobbyist machines I need to get rid of and don't particularly want to try selling it all one item at a time. col.

    multi-options mini sawmill plans

Free multi-options mini sawmill plans I'm just finishing off. Featuring 3 versions of mini sawmills each of which uses the same basic 25mm x 25mm steel hollow box section frame and can mill logs in excess of 12" diameter. In the plans the frame is mostly bolted together for the simple reason...
