I'm done with the For Sale section of the site

I never did try to throw my weight around as the sysop of a free access bulletin board before many of you were even born, but I encountered many who did, it's really disheartening to see that even 35 years on some people are still of the opinion that being in favour with the sysop automatically...

I'm done with the For Sale section of the site

Of course that's the crux of the matter right there isn't it, it's only "easy to understand and working well" from the moderators point of view. Most others I suspect would argue differently. Col.

Kids Building blocks with a 3040 CNC

Just do a google search for "3040 cnc router" and ignore all those with a spindle power of less than 500W. Mine required a bit of fiddling to get it working well (loose nuts type of check) but once running right it's been very reliable. Col.

    a kids building block trolley

I think beech it is. I might be just me but the maple blocks in the link somehow looks a little "adult" :-/ Thanks guys. Col.

    a kids building block trolley

Does anyone have suggestions what sort or wood and finish might be suitable for making a trolley and set of building blocks for a 1 year old? I envisage carving letters and numbers on each face of the blocks and my main concerns would be to do with toxicity, durabilty, and how well they'd carve...

    Marmite Cheeses anyone?

I only realised while I was eating them what a truly acquired taste marmite really is. My first reaction was "ooo... these are mild" but I was already eating them by then and you wanted the FULL review so here it is; "WTF?" he thought as he eyed up the suspiciously familiar logo on the...

    Dolls House

Thanks Bob. There's nothing hard about making a dolls house. It just takes some careful measuring a bit of planning and lots of patience. Col.

any small CNC machine owners here?

You don't mention a price bracket but Stepmore machines appear to be amongst the best "cheap" ones and they'll build one to your own specifications if you like. http://www.stepmores.com/index.php?m=co ... s&catid=31 http://www.stepmores.com/index.php?m=co ... s&catid=38 Col.

    Dolls House

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement lads. :-) I can only work on stuff a couple of hours at a time due to health issues but even so it's been on our dining room table for the best part of 3 months so it was nice to see it finally being played with. Col.

    Dolls House

I didn't doubt it AES and thanks again. She has no idea why she's coming to see us but her mum and dad have seen videos and or photos of every step along the way and the plan is for one of them to video her seeing it for the first time and being told it's hers. :-) Col.

Now everyone can have their own CNC :-)

Your man has done you no favours whatsoever. Yes... you can spend as much as you like on automated CNC equipment and software (as you can on your next car, which I'm pretty sure won't be the latest bugatti), OR you could learn how to write your own G-code and have a fully functioning 4 axis...

Now everyone can have their own CNC :-)

Well, other than the fact that people have been making wooden toys and trickets since the dawn of time already, I happen to own the same type of cnc router shown in the video, and I also happen to have just completed a complete 1:12 scale model of my home for my great grand daughter. And...
