    Anyone made a wooden head?

If you don't want to cut one up. You could decide what thickness you want each layer to be. Then at each layer height, use ticking sticks, measure the same way you would fit carpet to the base of a toilet.

    Laminate flooring scratch repair

It's a satin finish so I've been pretty carefully trying to polish it out with some beeswax and a cloth but can't say that's improved it any! Yes, laminate floors is made of two things. 1. A photograph of wood grain 2. A high density board made of compressed wood fibres / dust Polishing the...

    Repairing damaged finish...ebonised?

Brian Clegg Indian Ink is very cheap for 500ml. You can find it for around £8 delivered. I'm not sure what is in it, but I would think it is a mixture of water / alcohol / carbon / shellac. I've mixed it at 10% with water based poly (Ronseal) to produce a very dark black coating. Not...

    Lime scale

If you have vinegar ( white is best ) in the house already that is the cheapest option. I don't use it in my kettle because it stinks and if you heat it in the kettle, it can actually concentrate the acetic acid and can cause eye irritation. Citric acid is better because is a solid crystal...

Patterns from .png in CorelDRAW - inside/ouside trace line

I'm not sure if that is an effect of Corel Draw. Selecting "Path>Break Apart" from the menu in Inkscape will separate the individual shapes.( the program has no knowledge of letters ). If you want to work with Vector graphics, then learning about paths, nodes etc is a must :)

Patterns from .png in CorelDRAW - inside/ouside trace line

I don't have Corel Draw, but it's something easily done in a free program called Inkscape. The bitmap image of the logo from your post was a bit low resolution, higher resolutions give a better result. I have attached the a capture of the settings I used and the resulting files. Corel should...

    Mdf sealing

If you are being paid well for the mural and it is expected to last, GAC100 - is generally a very good solution for reducing SID ( surface induced discolouration ). It about £30 per litre. However if you are a generally arty person, its very good to have around as it mixes very well with...

How to age brass screw heads

Hard boiled egg, well boiled not runny. Degrease the brass screws using white spirit. Mash the entire egg (the white is the more important part). Seal the screws and mashed egg into a ziplock bag or plastic container. They don't have to necessarily touch, but the gas must flow and not be able...
