    Kitchen cabinet plinth retention

Try getting in touch with an ex kitchen dealer that used to sell Alno kitchens......The chances are, they may well have a few spares in a box somewhere.....? Failing that, try asking on one of the Kitchen Fitter groups on Facebook and see if any fitters on there have got a few spares in their...

Kitchen worktop - am I doing it right?

With all due respect Richard, but you may well be overthinking this.... I'm certainly not trying to tell my Grandmother how to suck eggs....😁 When using a worktop jig such as this, it's not really a case of moving the router clockwise or anticlockwise.....The jig (or slot is probably a better...

Kitchen worktop - am I doing it right?

My worktop jig is an Axminster one.....Had it for quite a long time now, but if I remember correctly, the width of the slot is about 32mm and the initial plunges/ passes are done with the 30mm guide bush tight up against the right hand side of the jig......Final pass at full depth with the bush...

Do I need a track saw / table saw?

That is the size they are made in and is the industry standard....Even if you could buy smaller, non standard sizes, the trade suppliers would charge more money for less material.......And there's always that occasional job where you need the 2800mm length of material....

Do I need a track saw / table saw?

Although his idea is sound in principle and it clearly works with a 2440m x 1220mm x 18mm sheet of ply, but it's substantially lighter (under 30kg) and smaller than the 2800mm x 2070mm sheets that I have to move quite regularly. Even using his sheet carrier, there is no way I could pick them...

Do I need a track saw / table saw?

I'd be interested to see "other options"...I've yet to come across anything else that is able to single handedly move a panel of this size & weight from a vertical plane to a horizontal plane and then roll it in any 360 degree movement to where it needs to be placed...Believe me, I did look...

Do I need a track saw / table saw?

Is that question for me...? If so, I think the colours would have given it away...😁 It's a Festool STM 1800.....A lot of money admittedly, but as I said, it's an absolute blessing and everytime I use it, the cost is forgiven.

Do I need a track saw / table saw?

About 3 years ago, I needed 3 sheets of an obsolete colour of 18mm MFC 2800mm x 2070mm. My usual supplier couldn't source the boards I wanted. I managed to find a company up North that had the 3 boards in stock & the matching 1mm PVC edging, so I drove up there really early one morning and was...

Do I need a track saw / table saw?

Sorry!....I assumed the reason you wanted to see the blade actually cutting the material, was to confirm that you were getting a clean cut..? Otherwise, why would you feel the need to watch the blade doing its thing...? 🤔

Do I need a track saw / table saw?

If the tracksaw & splinter guard on the rail are set up correctly, you should be getting clean cuts on both the upper & lower edges....?!? Here are a couple of cuts I've done this morning on some 18mm MFC using a tracksaw and a rough/ oversize cut on my table saw ( This is the offcut, by the...

Sold Festool Domino DF 500 240v

What year is the manufacturer date and how long is the warranty left on it please....?

Why are some router tables made up of cast iron but not others?

You can get 12mm worktop/ kitchen splashbacks in SGL nowadays......See if a local kitchen company or fitter has an offcut they would be willing to part with. If it's only for a router table top, you wont need a huge piece...700mm x 500mm is an average size top for a router table......🤔 Bear in...

Updgrading motor on Kity 619 saw - worth it?

I agree with @Fergie 307 ......I have a Kity 618 saw in my home workshop ( Im assuming it's the same motor as the 619 saw..?) and it's a 1986 vintage......I've always found the motor perfectly capable of cutting any material I've ever pushed through it..... Last year it happily cut through 3"...

    Festool domino: benefits + price

I bought mine second hand 10 years ago from a member on here for £400. It was 2 years old at the time & in pretty much new condition and had done minimum work....Never had anything go wrong with it in all those years. I use it on practically every job I do and would be lost without it. They...

    Startrite Spares

Hi CrustyCrab, Your saw is a bit of a Bitsa by the look of it ( bits of this & bits of that).......It states on the machine ID plate that it's a 145 model, but the 145 has a different fence system on it and the 145 only has a single rectangular bar on the front of the saw, not the twin round...
