    Tormek T3 or Grinder?

I've got a pro edge and it's awesome, I'm on a tight budget and research the best fir the job and the pro edge wins hands down... Also with a little thought all the tormek/jet jigs can be used with the sorby, with a little more thought it could be made variable speed too. It has a grind stone...

I love yew, I love yew more

Yewll get maybe an inch of waste using a chain mill, you don't have access to a mill with a bandsaw, seems such a waste of such a precious timber

    Turning greenwood bowls

Also one thing.... It's a lot less effort and much easier to get to a good standard turning dry timber on a power lathe than a pole lathe!

Hey guys, I'm after the exact bar diameter on a tormek as I'm going to fabricate a bar system so I can use all the tormek tool jigs in a sorby pro edge. Cheers !

    Turning greenwood bowls

I turn greenwood bowls on a pole lathe and as they dry they they warp and change shape, ive got some awesome strange shapes! make sure you don`t use the heart wood and pith also make the sides thin with a slightly thicker base so there is less chance of splitting on drying

I'm sure peter will explain it better but... 3 different coloured lines on the edge of a board about 1" thick one in the middle and one on each side, with the I think was a convex grind on the iron peter could plane off each colour pen without disturbing the other lines, if you know what I mean...

Peter, it was the QS plane you were doing the "3 marker pen trick" on the edge of the timber wasn't it? That plane was pretty damd good in my opinion !
