    Workshop floor joists

I even looked at the wrong dimensions in the tables. Gawd that was a bad, must try harder (homer) Looks like the nearest equivalent is 75 x 122, which at 600 mm centres is between 2.34m and 2.73m depending on the loading. Once again apologies for the confusion. Thanks again Nigel

    Workshop floor joists

HI all, I'll be starting a new workshop build soon (hammer) , just a 10 foot by 8 foot affair and have a question about floor joists. I've recently acquired a number of lengths of reclaimed 5" x 4" (150mm x 125mm actual) at 10 foot in length. Is it reasonable to assume these will make an 8 foot...

Draper 200mm Cast Iron Table saw £200 ?!?!

I faffed and faffed and faffed some more and finally got it to within 0.25mm after encountering a similar circumstance when re-tightening the darn thing. I think and hope that's close enough, more for my sanity than anything. Would I be right in thinking there could be that much flex in the...

Draper 200mm Cast Iron Table saw £200 ?!?!

Thanks for that Ian, spot on I will try and make it then. The blade is spot on at the stops for 90 Degrees, however I had to shim the blade with a piece of card to get my digital angle box to clear the carbide teeth on the somewhat smaller blade. Nigel

Draper 200mm Cast Iron Table saw £200 ?!?!

On the subject of blade alignment, I have a 0.5mm difference front to back as measured from the mitre slot at the same tooth. Is this an acceptable tolerance or should I try and adjust it closer? Thanks in advance Nigel

    Sanders gone bust

I had the very same problem with a Bosch orbital sander, and as was said by Novocaine it was indeed the bearing behind the sanding plate. Replacement was easy to find and install and good as new after.

Help! Orbital sander not working how can I fix it?

I had this problem with a Bosch GEX 125 ROS and found it to be the bearing at the back of the sanding pad caked in very fine dust and unable to spin freely. I managed to get it cleaned out and it's run perfectly ever since. Hope that helps Nigel
