Adhesive/sealer for water rower tank - any advice?

Permanent sealing is certainly a solution if you do not mind the expense in case the tank needs replacing at some point. Here in the UK a new tank is quite expensive. If you go that route, given your local climate, I would suggest being extremely zealous with chlorine top-ups. Algae will develop...

    Buying from EU

You would have needed to be a an elected member of the EU parliament to do so. So, if you voted one for the UK, they then voted for or against her. If you voted Farage maybe not though, because he only went to work 40 per cent of the time. He scrounged his full wage though and then full pension...

    B**** computer printers RANT

I got a WiFI brothers colour laser printer many years ago and I never looked back. It works well with all family devices. The only thing that it does not do well are photographs. But any online printing service which I can get printer profiles for will do well enough for that, and more cheaply...

Adhesive/sealer for water rower tank - any advice?

Hi, I reality I have not much to add to what already mentioned. I used OB1 from Screwfix, which is not too expensive and a bit messy to apply. 2 years in, there are no leaks, so I think it is a good solution. Not as transparent as the Water Rower adhesive, but then you tried it, and it did not...

Adhesive/sealer for water rower tank - any advice?

I used silicone and it worked fine, no leaks. Way more messy to apply though, and not so clear looking.

Serious help needed from any guitarist

Hi Alan, Just my 2 cents as somebody who played for quite a while and is interested in musical pedagogy. First of all, congratulations on wanting to learn something new, that is always a great start. Of course, your fingers are not the same as they were in your youth, however even if you were...

    Wireless Contact

I am originally from an island, so most watches I owned were waterproof to 30 meters. Beside that, the OP user case is for his wife to have the device always on her, so, no matter when and where, she would be able to call for help in case of need.

    Wireless Contact

I have been using a cheap Android watch from Amazon for a week now. I do not think it is a as good as apple watches and it does not have fall detection. However, it allows for calling and taking calls from the phone, and to speed dial contacts. It still takes a few taps to get to a contact. The...

Adhesive/sealer for water rower tank - any advice?

Hi! The OB1 worked just fine, and there were no leaks afterwards. However, it is also more visible and not as easy to apply as the proper sealant kit. Essentially, the original kit is just the right viscosity to fill the gap between the two halves without seeping inside, and applying it is a one...

    Scary robot video.

The fact that that a form is processed by a computer of by a human changes nothing. You are lamenting not that there was no human intervention, but rather than there was no expert consultation. The NHS use that type of approach in general. Dependently on the type of issue, staff are given...

    Tomatoes

Went on holiday three weeks and the damn thing did all my tomatoes in the back garden, leaving 8 feet tall skeletons waiting for me. The only good thing is that it does not seem to affect any other vegetable, but for potatoes. It spreads with the wind I think, so all plants were affected...

    Turning green with carbide tools

Green wood is huge fun to turn, because it is very easy and a sharp tool will leave a very good satisfying finish. Carbide tools are not necessarily scrapers. Mine can get really longs shavings out of green wood and give a good finish. The main problem with green wood is that once turned will...

Adhesive/sealer for water rower tank - any advice?

Thanks, that is actually the only silicon adhesive I have used in the past. I made self watering pots with it, because it is food safe and durable. It worked very well. But the description does not mention anywhere resistance to vibrations and movement, which the rower generates quite a lot of...

Adhesive/sealer for water rower tank - any advice?

Well, work got in the way, but I finally got around taking it apart and sealing (?) it. We tried applying the OB1 while holding the top shell just about in the lip, but by the time I had finished applying it, it had already sunk in all the way without quite filling the gap with adhesive. I am...

Adhesive/sealer for water rower tank - any advice?

Thanks Graham, it does look like a pretty good option actually, given it is very thin. I have received the OB1 today, so I might take the machine apart tonight and try with that. If it does not work out, Captain Tolley might be the next one to try..

Adhesive/sealer for water rower tank - any advice?

Thanks! You are right that there is a lot to learn. In the end, I ordered some OB1, and will try with that first. The UK branch of waterrower confirmed they cannot promise delivery of the glue kit in less than 6 weeks, which is a bit too long. Hopefully I will be able to take it apart by the...

Adhesive/sealer for water rower tank - any advice?

Thanks everybody, much appreciated! I will check them all. Frankly the number of options is staggering. OB1 looks like a good option and hilti too, for something which could be removed later on or redone without too much trouble. The cost in the end is not a huge issue. The repair kit, if it was...

Adhesive/sealer for water rower tank - any advice?

I am not an expert to be honest. I have read incendiary exchanges between fans of the two machines, but I think they are both very good. My only experience with something similar to a concept 2 dates back many years though. The club I raced for had something quite similar, and I enjoyed it a...

Adhesive/sealer for water rower tank - any advice?

Thanks for asking about the plastic type. Not having a clue, I went googling that and I struck, if not gold, at least some very specific information, finally! The tanks is made of some type of polycarbonate which does not like bleach, apparently. But I found some interesting info here...

Adhesive/sealer for water rower tank - any advice?

No, I did not not know, and thanks so much for telling me that! I have no practise at all with sealants, I am afraid. The only adhesives I use occasionally are PVA on wood and hot glue with foam airplanes.
