    3phase to single phase??

Hi all, I've found a local meddings pancera rather cheap. The seller has said it could do with a service but I'm sure I could handle that. The issue I have is it was originally a 3phase machine that a friend of the seller adapted the wiring to make it run from a 3pin plug. My understanding was...

Afternoon all, I'm in the process of building a "soundproof" drum room in the garden, i'm now thinking about lighting and i'd like a river table suspended from the ceiling with lights all round and glowing through the river portion. My concern is I'm wanting to make it as thin as I dare to...

    Router bit speed rating question

    Drying freshly cut logs

Hi all, I have recently had a large willow tree cut down and all the logs left. There are a few pieces that are about 17"x7", id like to try my hand at turning these into solid drum shells but am unsure on how to dry them. An article I read said logs crack due to the core being harder/denser...

    Pine bathroom door finish advice

Hello, I've recently hung a new bathroom door, it is solid pine and so far just given it a coat of coloron Danish oil. It's at the colour I want so don't want to add extra coats as it may darken it. Should I give the inside a coat of something else to protect against moisture and if so what...

Does anyone have any experience with the RP BDS150? Most interested in build quality and accuracy. I also looked at the BDS250 but think it is a little overkill(and more than I want to spend). Thanks, Dave.

Sanding sealer... A requirement or an option?

Hello, I have some Chestnut satin acrylic lacquer, the spray can one, after reading the direction it say to use either an acrylic or cellulose based sanding sealer, have done some googling and read on some other forums that sealer isn't a must and mainly to help get a smoother finish. My piece...

    Trying to raise ash grain.

I'm trying to raise the grain of some ash but it isn't playing ball. I sanded it to 120 grit, wet a rag with water and generously wiped it on, left it to dry over night and have reapplied water 3 more times but the grain has barely risen. Am I missing something or doing something wrong? Cheers...
