    Air filter

They are very easy to make using old cooker hoods. The motor is the same type that is used in air filters having the intake on both sides and are usually 3 speed as well. Unless you are going to hang it high the remote is not needed. As it is the big Jet one I have in the garage workshop turns...

Large segmented blank for a Tondo frame

I've just made a station clock for a museum. Two rings were needed one at 24 1/2" diameter,1 14" thick, and one slightly smaller at 2" thick. I mounted them through the back of what would eventually become the real mounting holes so I had room to work without hitting screws. Both held in a 6"...

    Sawdust briquets

I burn some by stuffing them into kitchen or bog roll tubes with pound shop masking tape on the ends.

    Using cooker extractor over lathe.

I picked them up on Freecycle York, there must be a Liverpool one.

    Using cooker extractor over lathe.

Cooker hoods do make good ambient air filters though. I've made a couple by cutting down the chassis to fit a home made box that will take commercially available filters.

    Candle cups.

I just look out for other stuff that can be used instead as anything over tealight size tends to be expensive for what they are. The church candles I have are just over 2 1/2" so I use a 3" insert that formally contained Tuna chunks, or a fancy glass one that formally contained Goo desserts.

    Lathe holidays...........

I teach woodturning for a living (normally), and have a lot of couples come where one isn't interested in turning, and no, it isn't always the lady! Try to make links with non turning related people around you that you can advertise or give publicity to so there is always an option of doing...

Bosch PBD 40 drill on offer

I have the Bosch in the teaching workshop as the 90mm travel is ideal for pens. Never had a problem with it. If you look closely at the packaging you will find some of the Aldi range of tools are Scheppach.

    2' Screwdriver

It has been modified in some way but my FIL's mother worked in the Lancashire cotton mills and he reckoned these long reach things might be able to adjust something under a running loom

    2' Screwdriver

I give some time to the local Men's shed in normal times. If things are donated they don't need they are put to one side for sending to another shed or they are put in a free box. I quite like wooden handled screwdrivers and picked this up with a few others as I was intrigued by the length and...
