Martin is no longer able to use his Hegner

I have had a stroke last September and it has affected my speech and right hand, so I have decided to sell my Hegner. I am putting it on here first to see if anyone is interested, if not I will put it on the tools page. I am asking £275.00 for it. I will take a photo of it. Martin.

    Cheap Hegner (not mine)

On homeworkshop. It's a Multicut 2 (not 2S) and the price is right, if someone hasn't already snapped it up. It's nothing to do with me, I noticed it in my RSS feed this morning.

    Lidl vac back in store

I've had mine 3 or 4 years and it's been flawless, though unfortunately not as quiet as the Henry. It's 1500w, has a socket so you can plug the scroll saw into it so that vac comes on at the same time. Can also be used as a blower, though I'm not sure what use that is; why would you want to blow...

Great little project for those with limited tools and space

All-in-one Dremel drill, router and sander. Looks like it can be made with scroll saw and Dremel. Ideal for anyone with few tools and not much room, but a great little project in its own right. https://youtu.be/Zh95WSOrilk

    Pachyderms

I just bought a couple of sheets of decent 3/4" ply to make a bench for outside the garage. It's decent stuff with 13 wood laminations, and cheap at 8 quid each for 8ftx4ft sheets. I cut these hefferlumps from an offcut, just to see what it cuts like. It's a bit slow with a #7, but leaves a good...

    Everything's coming up roses

My idea was to print a red backing for the flower part and leave the rest as it is, but it looked rubbish, so I don't really know what to do with it.

    do-nothing-machine

Not much scrolling done, apart from a bit of trimming to size. I had nothing to do so I made a do-nothing machine. http://vid288.photobucket.com/albums/ll ... 4a0pyg.mp4

    Does wood ever stop expanding?

My garage doors are made from pine floorboard and look great. I sprayed them with Thompsons clear water seal, but the doors seem to be forever expanding. I have already removed about 1/4" from the doors but they are stuck yet again. Rather than keep moving the padlock hasps, I have elongated the...

    Hegner 2S bargain

I'll risk the wrath of the admin. There's a Hegner variable speed 2S advertised on UKWorkshop. This the second time it's been advertised and with the price reduced to £200. A real bargain. Before people accuse me of trying to sell my own (again), it's in Cardiff, nearly 250 miles from me, and...

If you were to design a scroll saw, what'd be your priority?

Now I've stopped shaking, mine would be to silence the *BANG* when a blade breaks. It's 4 or 5 years since I got my first scroll saw, and I am still not used to it, and as it's been a lot of months since I did any scrolling, it was even more of a shock to the system today. I watched...

Paint for garage doors made from floorboards

When we moved into this house in April, the previous owner left us a few hundred feet of pine (I assume) floorboard in the garage. There was already a 10ftx8ft shed built from it, so we decided to have new garage doors made from it, and a gate across the drive. Thinking it would be nice left...

    Endoscope / borescope

Anyone had one of the cheap endoscopes off Ebay that couple to a smartphone, tablet or laptop? I want to have a look behind the shower pod but there isn't a lot of room. I am wondering about the quality and range of the camera. I want to check a pipe is no longer leaking and I don't really want...

    Scrolling vinyl records

Any tips? Especially on blades to use and how to stop the vinyl melting back together. I was in an antique shop in Knaresboro yesterday and they have a £1 room where I spotted some vinyl LPs. I was going to buy a couple when Fran noticed a 10 LP boxed set, and as everything in that room was a...

Parkside wet and dry vac at Lidl on Thursday £59.99

I bought one of these 2 or 3 years back to use for dust extraction with my scroll saw. It has a socket for the saw, or any other power tool, so that the vac turns on and off with the saw. I've been more than pleased with this vac, and besides dust extraction for the scroll saw, it gets used for...

Been going to make a Whirligig for yonks

Finally got around to it. It was just propped up for the photo, so of course the wind blew it over and the propeller broke.

    New Jet 22" scroll saw

I wonder how much that will be by the time, and if, it makes it to the UK? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01iAi4hg5Og

    where can I get these?

They are quick release jobbies for the Burgess BK3 bandsaw side panel. No doubt others use them but I have no idea what they might be called.

    Grrrrrr... vibrrrrrrrration!

I finally got my garage at the new house sorted with lathe, mill and scroll saw, all in the man cave built by previous owner of the house. One third of the 27ft x 12ft garage was made into a room complete with satellite TV and projector screen, which I removed. Carpet tiled 18mm chipboard floor...
