Direct Air vs Air from Room - for Wood stove. What's best for high humidity house?

We have a fully room sealed stove in our old fireplace, which is on an outside wall. It has a short length of 2” pipe drilled through the outside wall feeding directly into the stove. The only air taken from within the building is when you first light the stove (door latched slightly open for...

    Remote control plug

I’ve used the Byron Home Easy sockets for years. They do a 3kw model (HE330). Never had any problems.

Dust ports- so many different non standard sizes : (

I'm in the process of cutting short nearly all of the cables fitted to my hand held power tools and fitting them with Neutrik Powercon (male) connectors. I have 3 power leads at strategic positions around my garage, fitted with female connectors so that I can quickly swap out tools and avoid the...

    MFT worktops, uses etc

There's a bloke on youtube who's made up his own using a couple of butt hinges. It looks pretty good - I’ve been meaning to try it out but haven't had time. The channel is Conkcat and the first clip is at:

    MFT Question

Given that you already have the parf guide system and assuming your benchtop is about 18mm thick (so that you can feed the festool type clamps through the dog holes) why not drill out your current top with an mft grid over the whole area, but only using the 3mm setup holes. You can then easily...

    Nail Gun

+1 for the Aldi gun. I’ve had the Ferex (lithium battery) gun for about a year and it’s been fine. Reliable, portable and not too heavy. Currently about £85.

    Kitty Best Combi 2000

I used to have one of these. Following up on Dhenry's point, the 2000 also has a red stop button at each end, with a safety interlock between them. BOTH buttons have to be pulled out before the planer or saw motors will start.

    Nail finder

I use reclaimed timber almost exclusively: I first deal with any obvious nails, screws bolts etc etc, then go over it with a coarse belt sander or angle grinder to remove finish, embedded dirt or grit, then use the Little Wizard to pick up any remaining metal. It’s not perfect but it does for...

    Nail finder

I've used a 'Little Wizard' metal detector from Rutlands for the last 5 years or so. It has worked well for me on salvaged demolition timber. Currently £30, but out of stock at Rutlands.

    Shelf pin drilling/routing system

I have the Mk II Parf guide system for drilling 20mm holes a la MFT worktop. As an added advantage, this is perfect for drilling accurate 3mm holes at 32, 48 and 96mm centres, vertically and accurately. Coupled with Hafele 3mm pins as suggested by Jonathan S, job done.

No probs, I quite fancy building a couple of these. Are you making the legs detachable so the beds stack for storage?

No probs. May I suggest using the plastic straw trick to remove glue from the mortises?

H Hi, Looks comfy! Did you consider notching the laminations pre glue up to form the mortices for the slats, rather than cutting them after?

Hi, nice job! I didn’t have a pocket screw thingy and went for exposed countersunk stainless screws (Spax). Expensive but look pretty good and easy to strip down when refinishing required.

Thanks and sorry, I haven’t a clue what the plants are. I am definitely not a gardener!
