    Elliot Minor wood working machine.

Hi Heimlaga Thank you for the reply. The table that caeme with this is a piece of 3/4 ply, I suspect it probably had a steel table hence the quastion about the manual. There is a Elioot major that dos have aworkshop manual, I might buy that and try and scale it down.

Hello All My first post after lurking for a while. I recently picked up an Elliot minor multi woodworking tool (Planer, Shaper, Thicknesser, table and radial arm saw) I have 2 questions: Where can I get a workshop manual and would this machine use metric or imperial size spanners, I need to...

    Bending with the grain

Hi All I have a design idea in mind which would mean bending a piece of white oak. The piece will be about 8" long, 6" high and 3/4" thick. in my head I'd like the grain to run vertical but also need the piece to be almost semi-circular, is it all possible to steam such a piece as I really...

Wood turning lathe power feed or manual if that's a thing

I guess it also depends on the size of the perfect cylinders, if they were small enough they could be resin infused which would mitigate against any movement but still leave the decorative pattern of the wood. IF you went this way part turn the inside diameter before infusing, that way you don't...

NVR switch for a Perform table saw.

Good Morning CHG and Sunnybob. I'm afraid that my electrical expertise sits around the level of changing a fuse or a bulb, I have plugged in other machines and they work fine, I'll buy a glow pen today and I'll have a look on YouTube to see what the brushes look like and where they might be...

    Jig to cut triangula staves

Hi Steve and Custard A sled seems the way to go, I had thought of running it over the planer but not under it, fortunately for my needs I can do this in shorter lengths as the finished staves only need to be 8" - 10" long. Sunnybob, think of an irregular Toblerone, only 36" long...

Hi All First time I've used this forum, I'm much more of a reader than a writer, however I need some ideas, I need to SAFELY cut 32" - 36" long scalene triangle staves, longest side will be about 5". I've attempted it on the table saw, works for the first angle but not for the second, haven't...

HI all, it's the end of the week and I'm going into the shed this weekend, I can't find the barrel trimmer but I want to turn some pens, Panache in particular, other than sanding does anyone have a fool(me)proof way of squaring the blanks to the tubes, I'd considered holding the blank in the...

Is this on flat work or on turned work, either way, if you are fixingt he copper powder with thin CA, just mix the CA and the copper powder together before hand on a bit of paper and then use a lollipop stick or anything similar to fill the gap, then sand back when its dry, if you want to put it...

    Off Centre Turning Jigs

Hi Jon Thanks for the reply, I've had a quick look on the Axi site and it looks ok, I'm not sure if it will do what the Ruth Niles jig does, this is the video of the jig that I saw originally, if the Axi does this I'd buy it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMdm7QF3 ... 5sQyhY_8_Q Regards Kevin

    Off Centre Turning Jigs

Happy New Year to you all. I'm thinking of buying a Ruth Niles off centre turning jig, I've seen this one on YT a couple of times and it seems to do what I want it to do, I'd rather buy British if I can, does anyone have any idea if 'we' British do anything similar, or do I need to boost the US...
