Axminster Hobby Series TS-200-2 Table Saw with the Complete kit including the extension table, and sliding carriage. Shortening bar stool legs

Hi Chaps, I'm after some suggestions. I need to shorten the legs of a bar stool (these ones -> http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/70087212/. The difficulty is that the legs are both tapered and splayed so I'm struggling to work out how to mark out and make the cut in the right...

    Axminster TS200 - First impressions

Hi Sammy You might remember that I also have a TS200 and had exactly the same problem. In fact I couldn't get the blade 90 degrees at all no matter how hard I wound the handle. Thinking that this couldn't possibly be right I found that if you take the left hand red side panel off you will see...

Another small bandsaw advice request...Please :-)

Yeah it's not a super powerful saw and I fed at a steady pace but it cut through faster than I was expecting. To be honest I won't be doing a lot of resawing, but I wanted the ability to make the odd cut at full depth. That 3/4 tooth variable TPI blade is excellent - it's very very sharp and...

Another small bandsaw advice request...Please :-)

I have an Axminster 250 Bandsaw which I'm very pleased with. Its got a dead flat cast iron table and the fence is solid and dead square to the mitre slot out of the box. It will tension and power a 1/2" Tuffsaws 3/4 Vari-Tooth blade and will re-saw 4 inch oak with a surprisingly nice finish if...

    Axminster TS250M - 2 table saw manual

Here you go -> http://www.axminster.co.uk/media/downlo ... manual.pdf Seems the Mk2 200 and 250 saws are covered under the same manual now. Let us know how you get on with the saw. Cheers Mark

Best place to buy cut 18mm birch ply

I used these guys http://stores.ebay.co.uk/farmwoodproducts/ to supply and cut some 12mm birch ply recently. I sent them a cutting list and they came back to me with a price for all pieces cut and delivered. Probably not the cheapest, but nice quality ply and cut very accurately indeed. I was...

    Axminster TS200 - First impressions

Yeah, me neither. However since I'm quite space constrained, I am planning to fit a temporary ply/mdf top on the saw and use it as a makeshift bench from time to time, so ideally I'd like the ability to remove the guard and drop the blade/riving knife just below the table surface. Cheers Mark

    Axminster TS200 - First impressions

I used clear Briwax as that's what I had to hand. Put it on in thin coats and seemed to work well Cheers Mark

    Axminster TS200 - First impressions

Me too! I've always been a tinkerer and like the challenge of making something the best it can be. I bought it fully aware of the limitations and there is a huge amount of useful info on this forum about getting the best out of it by fettling, customising, building into units etc... I find also...

    Axminster TS200 - First impressions

Hi Bodgers, Thanks for this. I've just got a TS-200 too and am in the process of setting up, so it's useful to see some other first impressions. Regarding the judder on the fence, I've not really looked at that yet, but in this thread ->...

    Axminster TS-200 Table Flatness

Thanks Wizard. I'm fairly new to woodworking machinery so I'm just trying to gauge what's to be expected at this level. 0.25mm max variance seems fine for woodworking, yes? Cheers Mark

    Axminster TS-200 Table Flatness

Apologies for yet another TS-200 thread! I picked up a TS-200 in the recent Axminster pricing shenanigans, and have spent the weekend setting up and fettling. I've read pretty much every TS-200 thread on here and and pretty familiar with all the general limitations, workarounds and improvements...

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Those Christmas trees are great. Getting kids to make something it very satisfying for them (and for you no doubt) Last thing I made : 2 boxes for my kids' first tool kits which they'll be getting as Christmas presents. I used a technique of printing a mirror image of the text onto the...
