    Mini digger security

Take the battery out, that's what I do with my ancient bobcat. It's got a universal key to start!

Cut and Edge Service around Bristol

I'm planning a kitchen job down in Bristol and I need some boards cut and edged, nothing special. Where is the best place in the area for this?

    Rant about screwfix

I had the same rant in store the other day. The staff also thought its not going to last. It is awful, slow and if you don't know the specific item you are after, or how it has been listed you are lost. They have also made the app and website worse - in the plumbing you can't drill down by pile...

For Sale Baldwin Hinges - NOS 3" and 2"

Hello everyone, I have a number of boxed Baldwin hinges to sell. They are new old stock in their original packaging, they were bought from a company closure many moons ago and now they need to find another place to go. I would assume there will be a bit of surface rust which is easy enough to...

how much energy does a 3Kw oven use?

The ovens and wiring in Germany is different, each room is its own 16A radial split to supply lights and sockets. Each appliance is on its own 16A radial as well as they don't use ring mains and fused plugs. My consumer unit is utterly ridiculous. Seems to be this way on much of the continent...

    Which Microwave?

I put in a hotpoint integrated unit and we really like it. We have only been using the cooking modes and haven't done anything like a chicken in it yet. It is great for doing chips in, much quicker than heating up the oven. The pizza mode isn't too bad either for frozen pizza. It has a special...

    Solar panels.

We are looking into the options that are offered where we lease the space on our roof. I haven't looked too much into it because I'm more concerned with getting heating pellets at a good price. They have gone insane in Germany. We do have solar water on the roof which is really very good, but...

Oak frame Wood movement - what would you do?

I'd go with wedges, it seems to be the way of doing it externally on the old oak frames buildings round where I am in Germany. No reason to do anything different inside.

    Trim / Palm Router Advice

I'm not sure if they fit, but I think they probably do. I'm interested in buying one because the price for the plunge base for the Bosch GFK600 is mad.

Oil first then wax, or hardwax oil.

    Stair rail joint advice

I'd make a saddle for the different cuts and hand cut it, then pair it back. I can't really see how I would do that on the machines. That is a great staircase

    Replacement Bandsaw Spring

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a new spring for an old Metabo/Schneider/Rockwell 10" bandsaw. I picked one up a few weeks ago and the spring has seen better days.

Storing Water Stones between sharpening sessions

I try to keep them in the water, but ended up getting too paranoid about how cold my workshop gets. Nowadays they are on the shelf and go for a soak for an hour before I have a sharpening

My Bee Hive i made from all recycled Timber,

I'm using poly hives and big supers. Had a pretty sucessful year so far. The second harvest was amazing dark wild honey. We are in the middle of nowhere and have let our place go a bit wild this year, the farmers have also been leaving the neighbouring fields for insects and wild flowers...
