    Festool vouchers

Got a couple of vouchers from Festool today, both for £50 off, one for dust extractor (excluding the CTL-SYS dust extractor) and the other for any of the 18v tool range but also excluding some tools. If anyone can use them let me know and I'll pop them in the post. Stew

    Screwdriver bits

I'm putting up a pagoda and doing some fence repairs, I seem to be going through a lot of screwdriver bits, tbh the ones I have are just the cheap sort from Toolstation, so my question is, are wira bits worth 10 times the price, or what does anyone recommend? Cheers Stew Edit. I'm not using an...

    New member saying hello

Welcome John, don't fall into the same trap as me and spend more time on here than in the workshop. I am a hobby woodworker so unfortunately I take more from this site than I give. You can get advice on a varity of things, not just woodwork related too. Stew

Crunch time for the RO125 - help to decide?

For hand sanding I use one of these, http://www.axminster.co.uk/mirka-sandin ... n-ax851921 together with these, http://www.axminster.co.uk/mirka-abrane ... m-ax851873 they may seem expensive but they last forever! If you want to try card scrapers I can recommend these...

The Pros and Cons of buying second hand

I understand your problems as I too have a single garage space to not only to work in but also store any timber I have. To make good use of the space everything except my work bench and 1 work surface are on castors, I can move them around to 'create' the space I need, it's a pain but there's...

    Stickley side table.

Very nice, especially using only hand tools. I like the idea of the plane marks on the underside. Thanks for showing us. Stew

    Poisoned dogs.

When I was at school I worked at my sisters shop in the evenings in a small village, an old chap had a very old black lab, every late afternoon he came in and bought a bar of Cadburys Milk Tray (now that's going back a while) the dog loved it, he did that for well over the 5 years that I worked...

    MOT's

Found all the info I need, it would appear that the portion of the windscreen that is damaged would result in an MOT failure. The 'know all' in question (female on my wife's side) sometimes just likes to disagree with anything I say, seems on this occasion she is wrong. Stew

    MOT's

Thanks guys, Matt I'm not sure that's correct, but it may well be. NazNomad I found that on the Internet just wondered if that was still correct. Stew

    MOT's

I have a relative who knows lots about everything (I'm sure you know what I mean), back to the question, another relatives car has a small chip in the windscreen on the drivers side (approx 1/2" square damage) I said best get that repaired or replaced as it may fail an MOT, no said the know all...

    Hook & eye

Sam search EBay for 'small box catches' I've bought several different types, I prefer the type that nail on (using small pins for securing model railway tracks) if you use the type with screw fixings you will find they probably come with cross head screws which I think look carp. Stew

Visited the Axminster shop for the first time...

Eh I frequent Maplin and Axminster........... but best of all is the gates of the timber yard I use, I could sit there all day with a picnic just smelling the fresh cut timber!!! Stew

    Epidemic conjunctivitis - be aware

As RogerS has said, thanks for alerting us, strange that we should be informed of this on a woodworking website! I hope your wife and the others you know make a swift recovery. Stew
