    Bloody cold shed!

I have a shed that suffered from condensation. I put a couple of roof vents in the apex of the end, which allows for a free passage of air. It has helped significantly to reduce the condensation. The items I installed also had bug guards on them. Purchased on fleabay, maybe not a full solution...

    Dowel Jigs

I bought triton dowel jointer a few months ago, and was pleasantly surprised how good it was out of the box. I've found the way it works best for me is holding the fence tight against the horizontal work surface, and on completion of the hole boring, stoping the machine before withdrawing from...

    Mitre fence for my bandsaw?

After I bought a new startrite bandsaw, I baulked at the price of the mitre fence for the saw. Additionally, it did not seem to be of any quality. So I picked up an old mitre fence and removed the guide runner as it was to small for Startrite table guide slot. With some mild steel bar and a...

Hacksaws: How to choose 'em, how to use 'em, + other "stuff"

A wise old Chief many years ago saw me struggling with cutting duralumin with tin snips. The secret he told me was to lock the bottom handle of the snips in a vice, and cut using pressure on the upper handle moving the material to detail the cut. For thicker section you can place a pipe over...

    Electrical Die grinder 6mm capacity

Went for it with a cheap straight 6mm die grinder, a Katsu (no load speed of 24,000) for just over £20 plus a set of Tungsten Carbide Burrs (Drillpro). Pretty impressed with the roughing out of some yew No clogging up of the burrs, fast removal of stock to a point where a rasp works. Even...

    Electrical Die grinder 6mm capacity

I've recently been using a dremmel type machine with a 1/8 shaft Tungsten Carbide Burrs. I have been quite impressed with the way its moved stock away from some yew. Ramping this up I wonder if using a electric straight die grinder with a 6mm shaft tungsten carbide burr would allow for...
