    Remote control cars?

Have a search for FTX Tracer My 8 year old son bought one earlier this year and it's well made and more importantly you can buy replaceable parts that aren't silly prices.

Garden Room - Steel Beam Help Please!!

I haven't read through the whole thread so apologies if my solution has already been suggested. When we had a similar construction created the steel guy came up with a neat solution that means the fixing is completely concealed. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the steel without the...

    Sound Insulation For Workshop

Use Rockwool RW3 if you can over the standard loft insulation stuff. RW3 is designed to be an acoustic insulation and will be far more effective, has more mass (60kg per cubic meter). Just don't buy it from an acoustic supplier, they'll rip you off. I bought an 8 pack of 600x1200x50mm last week...

    Joining water butts in series

We use IBC containers and they work well. Just make sure you wrap the container in something to keep out the light (covered ours in a black plastic damp proof membrane sheet) or the water will soon turn green and smelly!

    Fitting wooden file handles

Thank you AES. I did do a search before I posted (didn't want to look silly) but nothing came up! I'll have a look now. Many thanks

    Fitting wooden file handles

Thanks for the reply. I think I'll tap them on and see how they go. Can always try a different technique if they come off later.

    Fitting wooden file handles

Received some new Axminster (Vallorbe) files for my birthday along with the Axminster (Python) wooden file handles. It’s been decades since I last put a handle on a file, can anyone remind me how it’s done? Think in the past I heated up the file tang until cherry red and gently tapped the...

    Guide rail help

Pete. Thank you for taking the time to take measurements, I really appreciate it. Looks like the Evolution track is a similar size to the standard tracks from Festool, Bosch, Makita etc. Unfortunately it won’t suit the DeWalt saw I have. So looks like I’m after a DeWalt track to go with my...

    Guide rail help

Hunter27 Could I ask a favour. Would it be possible to get a measurement from your Evolution 2 track? Specifically the distance from the edge of the aluminium track edge to the first of the rails that sticks up on the track. And also the width of the rail that sticks up (this is probably about...

    Guide rail help

Spectric, thanks for your reply. I have used a straight edge in the past but I have a project coming up where I'll need to cut down quite a few sheets of material and a guide rail would make this much easier. As I already had a circular saw which has the ability to run on a track I was hoping to...

    Guide rail help

Thanks everyone for your reply. Especially HDC83, the photos with measurements are really helpful. As you say it looks like only the DeWalt track will work with my DeWalt circular saw. pe2dave, the base of the circular saw is indeed flat but it has the ability to attach some plastic guides...

    Guide rail help

I have a DeWalt circular saw (DW365) that I bought new many years ago. It came with some plastic attachments that allow it to fix to a guide rail which DeWalt no longer make. I'm trying to find a guide rail (from any manufacturer) that the saw will fit onto, but I'm struggling to get...

    Axminster ts250m fence

As Pete said, would this extension work, seems to be in stock. https://www.axminstertools.com/axminster-craft-left-hand-extension-table-for-ac254ts-table-saw-106809 Do keep us posted on what you decide as I'm in a similar position and have been looking at rip fence alternatives. Don't seem to...

    Your Cars

I completely agree and that's what I was trying to convey in my response to Marcros comment about 10 year old cars not being as good as new ones. That was his opinion and mine was the opposite. We both want different things from a car. That's the great thing about cars there's so many to choose...

    Your Cars

I have to disagree, my Lotus Exige S feels so much better to drive than anything more modern which is why I've had it for 12 years and have no intention of selling it. Modern cars are so heavy and numb in comparison. There's something to be said for older lighter cars and driving enjoyment...
