    So my MDF was delivered...

Evening, is Lavers generally the cheapest for Medite MR presently on the south coast? Goodwillies in Waterlooville always seem quite pricey and they butcher their boards on delivery which is annoying.

Morrells best paint for MRMDF colour matched and spraying

If you can, go for Renner or Sayerlack (same as Sherwin Williams). For Sayerlack, the primer is Au474 and topcoat is AT99. There is an optional cross linker that acts as a hardener for it. For Renner, the paint is awesome you would need the Renner water based primer and then the 760/762 top...

    Painting kitchen cupboards and doors

Best product that's safe to use, is Renner 643 primer, and then 760 top coat. You can get an additive to go in the 760 to harden it.

    Slats for window shutters?

Evening all, Anybody know where you can buy the profile lengths for window shutters? Was thinking of making some, as seems quite simple and can spray finish them too, only issue is getting raw lengths of the shutter profiles? Any ideas appreciated. Thanks.

Would you expect joinery shop skirting to bow??

I paid the deposit of 60. The profile is not deep at all, it's a very very simple profile, only around 5 cm down from top of skirting, minimal material off.

Apologies Jacob, I meant cupping over the face of the board.

    Resin suppliers

A B L Stevens, Google them. Massively helpful company, huge product range and range of sizes. They have been going for years and they have helped pals with bar tops, art stuff (pouring to create glass style varnishes) and furniture.

Would you expect joinery shop skirting to bow??

Morning all, not posted for a while, but have a curious one. I am doing an extension in a 1937 born house. Got a local joinery shop, that does some fancy shop fitting and more basic stuff to copy the existing skirting. 12m of it is about 220 quid, they phoned me monday to say that I absolutely...

Yes, it's bad, buying my own kitchen instead of making one..

Re using MFC, I guess the issue there is knowing what it's like to work with, fixing into and breaking out etc. Perhaps it's my own education that's needed to understand where it works and to make sure anything fixed to it stays that way. Egger Board looks to be well thought of, and is MFC...

Yes, it's bad, buying my own kitchen instead of making one..

Hello In the past I have had the time to make my own kitchen, even a french butchers block thanks to the inspiration of somebody on here too. I have now moved house, and am looking at a kitchen extension that I have started myself and am so far up to the finished brick level. Looking at...

    Mobile car body repairs

I have had some work done on a company car a few times, by and large they do a good job. If you come to clean your car after, and really look at it, you will find overspray or masking marks that need someone with a machine polisher to get out, so don't think it will be back to original. Colour...

    Insulated timber playhouse floor question

I think this is a question on how long you want it to last. The optimal solution would be as suggested, celotex down, and joists exposed for airflow, no risk of nesting options for bugs/mice/wasps etc in the floor. The alternative as you suggest, is to clad the floor, to essentially make a DIY...

    House Extension Build

Evening all, like many on here, I am looking for some extra space, and specifically looking at a single storey house extension. I was thinking of going down the route of hiring each trade, e.g. - doing some groundwork myself with some help from a builder I know - getting a brickwork done via...

What is the going cost for boiler replacement these days

There are a lot of ranges of prices on here, and some that clearly cite that some HE's are way over priced, and i am sure there are some that are too. But overall, if you don't wanna get your fingers dirty, and you don't wanna go crawling the net for a cheap boiler then you are gonna pay -...
