    Record Disc sander

I bought a brand new Record disc sander about 8 months ago, cleaned the grease off the disc with white spirit and dried it with a clean cloth but the discs won't stay attached. Can anyone advise me as to what I may be doing wrong. I also bought the Record discs for the sander.

    Drill press replacement

Thanks again for the replies. I know for some people who do woodworking accuracy is not high up in their agenda which I can understand (what I mean is near enough approach) and as much as I would like sometimes to be like that, it is not in my nature and I am too old to change now. I agree that...

    Drill press replacement

I was thinking for woodwork only, as I don't think there are any decent pillar drills available nowadays having had a SIP and now a Jet. I was thinking of accuracy and sturdiness mainly.

    1ph vs 3ph

I can't remember the details but it cost me around £1,400 about 10 years ago it did the job ok but wasn't as powerful as mains 3 phase and the continuous humming noise did my head in. I only kept it around 10 months. Modern ones may be a lot better I wouldn't like to say but I will never regret...

Best Nail Gun for framing , cladding and roof timbers

I have A Bostitch air powered one heavy and you need to drag a compressor around very powerful, I also bought a early Dewalt which is the way to go in my opinion not as powerful as the Bostitch but plenty ample for most jobs.

    1ph vs 3ph

I have both single phase and 3 phase in my shop and would not be without 3 phase but I have owned a single phase TA 315 for about 20 years and find it unbelievable when it comes to power I cannot fault it ( I can't speak of the later machines ) I have also tried a inverter and would not go down...

    Treating exterior oak

I used a product a few years ago called Flexterior and it has lasted well but it is not available any longer but I suspect any high quality Yacht varnish may be as good as anything

    Axminster Deliveries

Same old story now Covid 19 with a lot of suppliers, some of the ones I have used have been just as efficient as before the virus. I have spent many thousands of pounds over the years with Axminster but not anymore (got too big and as stated before too expensive) and not to mention delivery.

    Spindle Moulder vs Router Table
