Wintergatan Marble Machine - anyone up for a challenge!

As one of the comments on Youtube said: 'That's so cool, it's just like Animusic Pipe dream in real life.' see - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyCIpKAIFyo

What would you do with these?

I've seen something similar used with carrier bags - the bag's plastic 'handles' sit in the grooves, rather than cutting into one's hands. -

    Inguinal Hernia

Had mine done some years ago, privately, and no problems after a couple of weeks. The nurse spent more time explaining how the TV remote control in my room worked than talking about the op. As she looked competent, I let her shave the affected areas rather do it myself !!!

    Blackboard paint

One suggestion made to me many years ago regarding new blackboards, was to use a piece of chalk sideways - to produce broad swathe marks all over the board, then rub them off with an eraser. Apparently, if you use the chalk normally the first time on a board, the thin lines produced are very...

    Today's Lidl Specials

If you picked up Lidl's Sandpaper Holders ( see http://lumberjocks.com/reviews/2021 ) the belts for this sander are ideal for cutting down and attaching to the Holders. They last for ages, and are much, much better than any other sandpapers - Lidl's sheet sandpaper being particularly...

    Automatic switch-on for Dust Collector

An unexpected application of the remote switching is that I can leave my garage door open this evening, with the DC near the front of the dark interior. When the local kids come Trick or Treating, I can turn the DC on - producing an appropriate howling noise as it starts up. I've put a small...

    Automatic switch-on for Dust Collector

I recently purchased the DK6683 Chip & Dust Extractor from Rutlands, and it has reduced the sawdust mess in my garage workshop considerably. The only negative aspect - for me - is that it is fitted with a NVR (No Volt Relay) switch, with the familiar red and green buttons and panic 'off' cover...

Help with rebate router cutter on plywood

I may be wrong, but is the breakout because you are cutting 'on the edge' and the cutter bottom is naturally pulling the surface way from the other plies as there is nothing supporting it. I would have expected the cut to be made with the router on the face of the plywood, so that the side of...

Someone made a Victorian Repro 'Franklin Chair'.

Well, obviously you've got to the bottom of the problem! (hammer)

Someone made a Victorian Repro 'Franklin Chair'.

Probably a bit late in the day now, but I made one of these chair/steps combinations, which I posted here: http://lumberjocks.com/projects/47287 I haven't read all the posts on this topic, so it may already have been mentioned that there are a couple of downloadable versions in the Sketchup 3D...

    Forum Software

I have four websites with Compila, and have had very few problems. Their rates are very reasonable, and you can scale up from a small package as a when you need to do so. Have a look here; http://www.compila.com/website-hosting.html

    Forum Software

It looks very comprehensive, especially for mobile devices, but . . . . . Did I read correctly that hosting costs $200 per month at present (with a $100 per month option in preparation) or $99 for a single cloud installation then $10 per month ? PHPBB is free!

    Forum Software

I'm not a very experienced website creator, but I managed to implement PHPBB with very little difficulty. Another advantage is it is well-known to users, who will feel at home with it.

Axminster Trade Series AW10BSB2 Saw Bench - Blade Tilt

Well, as promised, Axminster got back to me after I sent them this: Sir, I opened a topic on the UKWorkshop Forum regarding a problem I am having with the saw that I recently purchased from yourselves – see axminster-trade-series-aw10bsb2-saw-bench-blade-tilt-t83210.html – hoping that another...

Axminster Trade Series AW10BSB2 Saw Bench - Blade Tilt

I've sent a detailed e-mail to Axy today, mentioning this Forum Topic, and will post results as and when. Hopefully you won't see my saw

Axminster Trade Series AW10BSB2 Saw Bench - Blade Tilt

I agree, and I'd be happy with yours, so perhaps I'll refer both these videos to Axminster for their comments and suggestions. That is - of course - unless someone out there reading these posts already has the answer

Axminster Trade Series AW10BSB2 Saw Bench - Blade Tilt

So that we have an actual view of the movement being discussed, I've uploaded a video http://youtu.be/k-_uV3OSHIk of my saw blade being moved up and down. (Sorry about the church bells  ) It seems that if others do NOT have any tilting, then it may be a question of adjustment...

Axminster Trade Series AW10BSB2 Saw Bench - Blade Tilt

Coming back to my original query, I seem to be managing by reversing the raise/lower wheel after adjustment to get the blade 'looking' vertical. I had intended to make a Zero Clearance Insert, for which the accepted method seems to be - put it in position and raise the blade to cut through it...

Axminster Trade Series AW10BSB2 Saw Bench - Blade Tilt

Mine does reach the quoted 75mm, but I can feel a small 'lip' when sliding my finger from the insert to the table top. I would be grateful if you would post the results of your conversations with Axi here - if you wish, please feel free to mention my original post to add weight to your query.
