    COP26 progress or same old

Could we not just superglue Jacob and TN together and then glue them to the road? At least then they’d have some use as a speedbump!
  2. stuartpaul

    another of Jacob's rants.

My, my all this vitriol towards councils. Have any of you ever spared a thought for them? Consider some of the morons they have to provide services for!

    Metabo or Record P/T?

Thanks Richard, Really useful and helps with making my mind up. Really hard around here to get ‘hands on’ with both and directly compare.

    Metabo or Record P/T?

On the face of it this should be a no brainer given the price difference between the metabo 260 (£550 on offer) and the Record PT 206 (£800). I don’t believe they’re same factory different sticker machines (could be wrong?) but haven’t been able to find enough significant differences to justify...

    Olympics

Why the need for such sarcasm? Surely a simple 'I didn't like the coverage' would suffice? Yes, I realise the coverage was a victim of the discovery deal and a trade off against future coverage. Hopefully we'll get a bit more of the Paris games although I suspect maybe not. As you say high...

How to build a P51D Mustang

Well may I be amonst the first to thank you for an excellent write up! I’m somewhat in awe of your skill and have some doubt that ‘anyone’ on here could produce the same (I’m really thinking me here!). I intend to have a look at the plans site and see if I can find something simple enough to...

    Olympics

I have to say I thought they were pretty good this time around. Despite the restrictions it all appeared to go off relatively smoothly. Only complaint was the lack of red botton coverage given the restrictions imposed by the tv deal. Well done to Team GB!

16th. Century Venetian gilded tabernacle frame with hand cut and carved mouldings.

What a wonderful bit of work! Really nice write up as well, - thank you. I’m the sort of saddo who when we visit the National Gallery spends as much time looking at the frames as I do at the paintings. A number are truly amazing and I’d love to have a look behind the scenes at how the look...

    Turning oval knobs/handles

Just a thought but have you tried contacting Ercol to see if they can supply?

    De Haviland Mosquitoes.

Excuse me Mr K but I think you got the thread title wrong. Shouldn’t it be ‘Mosquito WIP’? Really nice work (again) and a wonderful aeroplane.

    Who else thinks this?

I generally enjoyed the whole tournament although not a football watcher overall. My biggest issue is with the mouth breathing, knuckle dragging ‘fans’ who feel that it’s acceptable to post racist abuse (in fact any abuse) at those who failed to score their penalties. Very sad.

    Remote control NVR

In all honesty I can’t actually remember exactly what I did but I did successfully bypass the NVR switch so the extractor worked off the remote. It can only be a combination of three things. Black to black only, brown to brown only or both together. The point about bypassing an NVR is valid but...

    The State Of Furniture

So do my wife and I. Some of the stuff is actually quite well made and robust for the pricepoint. Kitchen units are pretty good as well.

    P38J Lightnings

You are clearly very talented at this modelling malarkey! I like all of those but the typhoon looks really good. Interested to see how you go about it and might have a go myself.

    Hypothetical Question

It would almost certainly work because at no point would a single bag be carrying the full weight. However, I would want to build in a level of ‘safety’ by having more leeway on the bags capacity. Of course there are other factors like load balance etc and what you’re going to do with it once...

    P38J Lightnings

I'll take whatever wip pics you've got but would love to see the whole process as well. Wonderful stuff for an old spotter like me! I have literally just finished 'Winkle' Browns autobiography (Wings on my sleeve) and the stuff he flew is truly amazing.

    P38J Lightnings

Those look really good. What are the chances of you doing a wip as I’m sure many (me anyhow!) would love to see how you go about making them?

    Rhubarb

The old horse and cart has just passed the local lunatic asylum and as usual the horse has left its calling card. One of the neighbours is out with his bucket and shovel collecting said droppings and one of the inmates asks what he’s going to do with it. ’Oh, I put in on my rhubarb’ he says...

    New computer spec?

And therein lies the problem of computer buying! Someone like me who is a technical numpty asks what I thought was a simple question and end up almost more confused. Droogs has a negative view (and as an apple service tech it’s extremely valid to me) and then padster and paulrbarnard are very...
