    Hold onto your hats

To the chaps in the south west, wales and the west coast, good luck, hope the workshops hold out. I'm a bit worried about my new garden building (first real test) and an oak tree which is on it's last legs, if it goes over it shouldn't hit anything but it would make a mess. Hope the headline...

    What do you collect

Lets exclude woodwork items as I suspect we all collect those a bit. I have 2 things 1/ started to collect vintage pedal cars, had to stop at 3, as pandemic just drove prices through the roof. Still look but need prices to drop a bit. 2/ Viz comics, easy to get hold of the majority, still find...

    Telescopes

Hi, I'm looking to get a telescope. In the past I have had the £150 ones which did a job but not great. I now have a great building to do some sky gazing. I have a budget up to about £400 for telescope and tripod. Anyone able to point me in the right direction. I will use it randomly to look at...

    A warning, cheap tut.

Bought a spare laptop charger from ebay about 12months ago. Last night it blew (big sparks / bang) and caught fire right in front of me, luckily just blew it out but how often are they just sat there on a sofa, cushion etc unattended. No more saving £10 on a looky likey electrical item for me!!!

Absolutely immaculate. He has just bought and expensive project and has offered me his series 2 soft top landrover...

Bobby's home office / gym build

I have gone the permitted development route, I have a big garden and can keep it 2m from the boundry, the building is 3m high, so it seemed the easy sensible route. PD has been granted. I won't post up plans just daily progress pictures, I'm a few weeks into it so there is a delay in posting but...

    An alternative collection

Hi, I know we have a lot of plane collectors but I'm more of a car man, only started recently to look for these but it's a really big itch now. I'm hooked, they are all tri-angs from the 50's and 60's, I think the grey one is the oldest 1955 ish, a T50 meteor, then the red royal prince, which...

    Pandemic projects

Thought I’d buy a Raleigh chopper as a project, wow they have gone through the roof. Same with all little resto projects. I have a little pedal car, thought I’d buy another, doubled in a year. Find me something on eBay to buy.

    Sharpening router cutters-- a review

Hi, I recently received a router cutter from Phillip Sewell, asking me to try out one of his re sharpened cutters. I think Philip is interested to see how they compare to a commercial sharpener I use on a weekly basis. Firstly, I only usually get straight cutters or simple profiles sharpened...
