Just a quick heads up for anyone after one of these. I just bought a new 16" Oleo-Mac from Mow Direct for £99.95 with free next day delivery. It's first job was a 12" square block of semi green sycamore which it had no problem with at all. Nice saw for cutting blanks at a really great price.

Like many before me, I have just finished making a carvers mallet from a lignum vitae bowl. The trouble is I cannot bring myself to use such a nice piece of wood for it's usual purpose - thank goodness I am not a carver. How do the rest of you manage?
