    Morticing

Hi, cant see you having any problems with fine work, the 571 is very precise and you can limit the travel in pretty much any direction you like. In truth I cant see how it could be made any better-its built like a tank! I would guess the counter weight weighs about forty kilos, but I'm away from...

Bessey? How do you talk yourself into it?

How can something thats so right, be so wrong!? I started off with four K bodies and now have TWENTY!.I find it helps to shut my eyes when it comes to handing over the cash. That aside they are just the best and a joy to use-no regrets! Chris

    Pedestal Drills!

A decent chuck can improve the machine greatly, but on cheap machines the castings tend to be flimsy and not very acurately machined. Also any locking bolts seem to be maid of very soft steel so they strip easily. At the end of the day you can spend a couple of hundred pounds on a drill that cost...

    Pedestal Drills!

No particular horror stories, but after seeing and using drills from the likes of machine mart and others and being very disappointed I think its only right to point out that for a similar price you can buy a second hand meddings, fobco, ajax(scrit) which are built to industrial standards and will...

Yup, TA 315 its a beast!.Noticed after I got it home that it doesnt have any mitre slots, guess I shall have to do some mods to allow the use of a tenoning jig with the sliding table. If anybody wants a simple but heavy duty saw look no further than the sedgwick!!!!!!

MAKITA LS1214 LX - OH YES INDEED !

Neil, If you are after a good saw ,I don't think there is any better than these about.I think you are better off sighting off the edge of the blade, you know for certain where the cut is going to take place. As I said before I think lasers are a bit of a sales gimmick. Chris

MAKITA LS1214 LX - OH YES INDEED !

No mine is about two years old,we had to touch the blade on the pencil lines back then. I can never see the point of using lasers because the lines always look too thick to me

    Will it ,wont it,will it???????

Sorry when I said stretcher, the stretcher runs the length of the table and is centraly mounted so all the grain runs in the same direction.

    Will it ,wont it,will it???????

Hi everybody I am just about to finally glue my oak table top to its stretcher bar and legs. The timber was allowed to acclimatize in my lounge for about two months before machining.I then glued the boards up to make the top and the legs. The timber then sat in my lounge for perhaps another couple...
