    What hammer for chisels?

Thanks for that, I've decided to try the nylon faced hammer as that will be useful for many things besides. I'll give the lump hammer a try, tbh I had discounted this as being too brutal but having read people's opinions can see the merits. Once again thanks everyone for your replies, I think we...

    What hammer for chisels?

I have a set of Irwin chisels, blue plastic handle with a steel cap. What type of hammer or chisel would be your choice? I just use a normal claw hammer at the moment, I know many use a nylon hammer but I was wondering how long it will last against the metal cap before the ends need replacing.

Plumbing: reposition Offset Connector for Shower mixer bar?

I used liquid PTFE for setting the offset connectors rather than tape. You can set the centres and level accurately and just leave to set.

    Barbeque table

Same here it's so useful, mine is based around a board for a Subbuteo pitch 🤣, for a family tournament at Christmas, so similar size. It's West Brom vs Melchester Rovers if you're interested LOL

    Barbeque table

I made something like this with a lift off top for my track saw. Pretty sturdy and folds up nicely. It is fairly heavy but it can be wheeled around easily enough. I did make some latches to lock the hinges on mine.

    Dust Extraction Advice please

Thanks for sharing the pics, glad you mentioned the plastic container collapsing. I like the idea of building my own bin as I can make it fit into an odd shaped corner so that has made up my mind. I will have a think about the air cleaner, good point, it's easy to think the hazard has gone when...

    Dust Extraction Advice please

Robgul, thanks for the information, your setup is just what I was thinking of doing. Nice to see that it works well 👍. The shroud is something I think I will look into and as you say just catching the majority of dust would be a definite improvement, I too have tried the slow cut method to try...

    Dust Extraction Advice please

Hi, I'd be grateful of some advice and other people's experiences with dust collection. At the moment I use a Titan vacuum cleaner that switches on with the power tool, connected directly to the tools dust extraction port. I use this for a mitre saw, homemade router table and bench top belt...

    Stanley lateral adjustment lever disc

Thanks I have some brass that will do nicely. Mike I'll have a better look but may strip down further, it's soaking at the moment as the adjusting knob is seized. As you can see the whole thing is in a bit of a sorry state.

    Stanley lateral adjustment lever disc

Hi I am cleaning up a 1960s Stanley Bailey no 4 plane and have noticed that the disc on the lateral adjustment lever is missing. Does anyone know what the dimensions of this are so I can make a replacement. Also is this normally riveted to the lever. Thanks in advance for your help.
