Hello and a few pics of drums I make

Hi Dario, Looks class! I make drums too, (different type though) love the jig you have there! I would recommend trying titebond original (dries harder and IMO sounds a wee bit better). I've an idea that you might be able to use instead of the ratchet straps, to glue it up (probably only worth...

Which bench pillar drill should I buy?

Mike, good luck with the search, check craigslist and gumtree, local papers, loot also, sometimes, where you live can be an advantage, as other people are too far away to collect, and as a result, are reluctant to bid. Check also generic terms like pillar drill variations like bench drill, or...

    Which sub £100 bench drill?

if you fancy taking a chance...I just seen a fobco drill going for £30 on ebay, its rusty and can probably be cleaned up quite easily with wd40 and some fine wire wool or 400 grit wet and dry paper (take 1/2 an hour) and then put a new motor in it....but it woul be a brilliant drill...i have...

    Which sub £100 bench drill?

Hi Craig, Theres often fobco and meddings bench pillar drills that come up on ebay, gumtree, craigslist etc. IMO you cant go wrong with anything by fobco, meddings, union, startrite etc. With pillar drills, I look for stability, and no movement in the quill....good smooth action, its useful if...

    Startrite paint

Hi John, thanks! its much better than the clarke saw i had been using (it was too friggin loud and the plywood used to splinter quite a bit...though it served its purpose for as long as i needed it to). took a while to get a photo of the plate on the motor i could read the motor is a dual...

    table saw and workbench advice

Matt, i got a clarke table saw a few years ago...it worked but not a brilliantly accurate or quiet tool, so i recently upgraded to a startrite saw from ebay (ironically it cost less than the clarke saw). I would recommend looking on ebay, you could get lucky with an old startrite, or record...

    Startrite paint

I recently got a wee startrite table saw on ebay and want to restore it, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0445698564 it doesnt really need too much apart from a bit of a clean up and a fresh coat of paint. I was wondering if anyone knows of any paint that would match it? Apologies...
