Made use of a technique from Jacob

This constant bickering between certain members of this forum is beginning to get childish and is starting to spoil a lot of the threads on here. So******** STOP IT !!!!!!!!!!!

    bench dog hole collars.....

I presume they prevent wear to the wood, which is fair enough in a soft pine, but in beech or suchlike I'd think they would not be needed. My bench top is beech and the dog holes don't go out of shape. Even if they did a little ovalness would not effect the way they work.

    Stanley Planes & Threads.

I guess John Bate's interests and priorities are different to yours. His purpose was certainly not to answer any questions you have, since he doesn't know you exist. BugBear That's very true, but I do reserve a right to say its a load of useless pedantic rubbish. Even if it does put a nose or...

    Tool accuracy

I think your asking impossible questions to answer, as every woodworker has different parameters and standards. One gets it as near perfect as you can, is the best answer I can give. But then I use my machines start on the basics and then finish off by hand, maybe a woodworker who wanted to go...

    Stanley Planes & Threads.

I'm sorry but I cant find any interest in the history of what thread Stanley used form one year to the next and when said threads were invented. Just a little too pedantic and so removed from woodworking. One can nick pick so much over such things, that you loose sight of what the main object...

    oak dinning table

Depends on what is underneath, if its chipboard or MDF, then best put it in a skip and get another one. If its wood then you might get away with putting down some brown paper and using a hot iron to re-melt the glue and re-stick it.

How do I get an avatar???

Also you have to master at least one thread on sharpening, and out post Jacob on the subject. Then start at least another ten threads on the subject and pontificate about it at all times. (hammer) :D
