    Thin drawers

Fitting a wee fridge in our camper van but left with a space above and beside. It’s a narrow space but space in van is precious so would like to fit horizontal and vertical drawers. I’ve done plenty of boat hull woodwork etc but little cabinet work. What wood, runners, construction would be...

Thank you that’s really helpful. I’m guessing sweet chestnut heartwood is not easily found in large sections? Off topic - I have some thin chestnut planks in the garage (under weights) a friend gave me but apparently it’s a mix of sweet and horse and he said horse was not as durable, will be...

Kinda spire nut to go over ply?

Is there a captive nut for a ply edge please. existing holes are too close to the edge for the screw in or spiked tap in type. I’m imagining something like the ones that go over sheet steel. It’s for something in a camper that once fitted is difficult to access the rear. The best idea I...

Cupped table top, what to do

Having worked on wooden boats I’ve done a fair bit of timber steaming. I’ve only ever seen it used to bend wood longitudinally ie across the grain and not so much with the grain as in cupping. Although a steamed twist is common as in planking. Also from my experience it’s usually done on new...

We like industrial and patina. I will paint the bottom though if the top comes out reasonable but leave the drawers. Each to their own Jacob 😊

Yes it’s an interesting board joint. Angle metal brackets underneath except on drawer side. The cup is bigger than I realised all over 😮

    router template for badges ?

Someone has asked me as a favour if I would make some smallish plywood badges, design a bit like a simpler version of the VW badge. Could I do that with a router and template please?
