    Career as a Carpenter

Thank you for taking the time to reply, it is very much appreciated. In my mind i was thinking i can do some work on my own and then if things dry up i could then look at some site work to keep me going. I love working with wood and have already completed a level 2 furniture making course but...

    Woodplug and countersink drill set.

Hi, i am looking around for a decent wood plug set, i also need a decent countersink drill set and want to cover 6mm, 8mm, 10mm holes. I have seen the veritas wood cutters but the only countersink drill bits i can see are trend. Anyone know of a decent kit that won't cost the earth? Cheers Mark

Tracksaw, Bandsaw or Table saw (yet again)

Well im working from a garage at home (which i did say) so fitting 200 sheets in might be a problem. The issue i have is basically costing, it doesn't matter if its 2, 20, 200 when i cost how much it is to make i have to take my time into account so making quick repeat cuts will enable me to do...

Tracksaw, Bandsaw or Table saw (yet again)

I think you might have missed my point, i will only break up sheets to get them into more manageable pieces or i might ask them to do this at the wood yard, I then want to be able to make repeat cuts fairly quick. i am just finding the track saw a very slow process to do this.

Thanks for all of your replies, very helpful as usual. So i have a Parf Sytem mk2 that i purchased some time ago but never used. I took off my worktop (mdf), this is being replaced and used the parf system on it to see how difficult it is and will use this to see how it works for me and if i...

    MFT Question

Thank you for all of the helpful replies. If you were making your own, what material would you use and would you coat it with anything? Basically what i am now thinking of doing is replacing my workbench top and have the mft part that is removable and stores away, i then have a piece that fits...

    Screws holes to re use

Im not quite sure how to ask this so here goes. I have a workbench and part of it is removable so i can put a mft top on and i want to be able to lock it down. I have seen some screws that have a part that i would put into the table top and allow a screw/bolt to be repeatedly screwed in and...
