PayPal or izettle or a different mobile card terminal

I have a fixed terminal which costs around £240 a year to rent. I also have an izettle for emergency use if the broadband fails or for anyone who insists on paying by Amex. It works really well and if the charges were anywhere near the fixed terminal costs then I'd use it all the time.

    Dacia Duster

Although I have an awd car, my next car will be 2 wheel drive and I'll fit snow tyres. The difference is stunning, I can go just about anywhere in the snow and ice with impunity. The downhill and braking performance on snow are brilliant, and 4x4 doesn't make any difference to that.

    Granite worktop cutting for beginners

I did mine with a circular saw with a diamond blade. Only a straight cut mind. I also backed the saw in to avoid chipping and her indoors was cooling the blade with water.

    Wacky new form of measurement.

I used to be a computer operator, the IBM laser printer we used was calibrated in mm for width and inches for length, so we'd print on 305mm x 12" stock. No idea why though. I've just ordered 35 6"x2" rough sawn joists, 4.8m long.

    Horizontal, slatted tool-wall. A puzzle...

I have slatwall installed around my shop and the slots are actually t shaped (like a t track) and the fittings slip in and are stopped from coming out by the top lip http://www.unishop.co.uk/php/unishop.php There are hundreds of different hooks, bins, etc etc...

Frames for School Art Projects using a Compound Mitre Saw

I'm sorry, but for your budget you are just not going to get a good enough cut. For picture framing I use the following 1) omga mitre saw (swing head) which cost around £2,500 2) Morso guillotine which second hand go for around £500 3) but mainly a brevetti double headed mitre saw which...

    Toothing Out Brickwork

Before power tools we just used a plugging chisel, so the above suggestion of holes plus plugging chisel should be perfect.

    Composite decking

Thanks for the replies, especially rafezetter and tfrench, I think I'm sold on composite, I'm doing a 10m x 5m deck, and I can't be pineappled with maintenance, so I think traditional wood is out. We're staying for at least 10 years, so longevity is important as when we do come to sell the deck will...

    Composite decking

Thanks for the advice, I'm at the initial stages of trying to decide whether to go for composite or timber decking. Here is an example of solid core composite http://www.trex.com/uk/products/decking ... d-railing/ Another http://www.edecks.co.uk/products/10962/ ... 1mm---3-6m)

Has anyone any experience with composite decking? Any good (or bad) suppliers? Solid or hollow? Thanks

    Three oven gas aga

I have a 13a electric two oven model. It costs us around £15-£20 per week to run, but we do have a 4kw solar array to help with the running costs. It switches off at 9:30pm and on at 4:00am. For us it works well as my wife works from home in the kitchen/diner and the rest of the house is...
