    Cheap Systainers!

If you want relatively cheap new sustainers, I was able to pick some 187mm heigh ones from Kelvin Power for £25 each with battery inserts in. I have then been selling the inserts on eBay, so actual cost to me was under £20 per systainer.

    Dust masks for women

My wife uses a mask when vaping her bees to treat them for veroa. It needs to fit perfectly and has the small JSP mask with the appropriate filters fitted. As mentioned previously it has the press to test filters to confirm it is working. Because it seals fully nothing comes up to steam up...

    Bee-safe Exterior protection for plywood...

Hi on my wife’s bee hives we use Cuprinol shades paint which seems to work well and does not have anything nasty in it that affects the bees. We only ever paint the outside of hives, but do paint the landing boards and entrances which seems to be fine. Best wishes, Mark

    Face Masks

+1 for the JSP masks. I think they work really well, especially with the press to test feature and the ability to fit different filters. I have a medium one and am of average size. My wife uses a small one, if that is of any help.

Charnwood W629 Table saw? 2 buy or not 2 buy.

Hi Jackie, I have a Charnwood W629 which I have had for quite a few years now. I bought it second hand and it was a huge step forward from the Erbauer site saw that I had before it. The motor seems to be powerful enough for everything I have thrown at it and it is fairly quiet. The miter slots...

Thicknesser is blowing fuses - help please!

I had a similar problem in the past with my planer thicknesser. In the short term I found the solution was all down to the tension on the belt from the motor being too high. If I slackened it off slightly it was fine and could cope with the start up load. I have no idea how it moved to change...

Help me choose a belt sander

+1 for Red Makita MT. I have had one for a few years for DIY. It can be used upside down and has never missed a beat.

    Perscription safety glasses

As a non professional I baulked at the price in my opticians when asking about safety specs. I am long sighted, so wanted something so I could see the detail close up. I found these on Amazon Bolle IRIDPSI1.5 Iris Spectacles Lens Bi Material Frame, +1.5 Reading, Clear They are a bit like the...

    Replacement plane iron

I see here that there are two sorts of Hock blade offered. One is listed as A2 and the other as high carbon. For the uninitiated which one is O1 being referred to? https://www.classichandtools.com/acatalog/Hock-Blades-for-Bench-Planes-BP-BPA.html#SID=1498 Thanks

    Question about bike brakes

That’s what I fitted to an old bike I acquired which I used to use for whizzing down the hill to the station each day. Worked well, but I did also replace the steel rims with alloy ones which made a real difference breaking in the wet.

    Cheapo Nail gun

Can I ask what sort of gun/guns do you use with your compressor, as I was thinking of going a similar route?

    Wet grinder rollers

Well I have finally got there and made some rollers to move my grinder about on the bench. Next challenge is to make a cupboard to put it in.

    Airless paint sprayers

I like the idea of being able to paint quickly. I think the main things that put me off are the set up time and the clean up time. With spraying I think you need to do a lot of masking off in a room. Particularly if you first mask off for the felling, then for the walls and then for all the...
