The are well made precise tools.
I have the track saw, Jigsaw, domino and powerplane. The plan leave wood as smooth as silk.
If you can afford it. Go for it.
I had a large Honda 22 yrs old never failed to start first or second pull. Over time I have reduced my lawn in favour of outdoor living areas. My lawn is now a 3m diameter circle and only took 2 minutes 54 seconds to mow with the Honda. Last year I did a trade with my daughter and they bought me...
I did just that. Chucked in in my man drawer with all the odd nuts bolts and foreign currency. I just couldn’t bring my self to spend the, just under £860 Rolex wanted to service it. Three time was it costs new. However, I did finally scrap the cash together and had a ride down to RSC Kent and...
I have used biscuits in the past on building kitchens. The joint are very weak compared to domino. For that reason I bought the 700. Great tool and with the cutter adapter I can now use all domin sizes available. I got my 700 in 2014 when they are around £750, expensive then, but well worth it...
Watches... Where do you start. I think you are a watch person or you are not. I got a Rolex sub for my 18th birthday in 1978. Stayed on my wrist 24/7 for 40 year until it stopped working due to lack of servicing I guess. My wife bought me a Rolex look alike by Steinhart automatic £300. Keeps...
Where do you live. Someone on here will definitely cut them to size for you. As a beginner you will be there forever until your skill level can reach John Makepeace standards. With a hand saw you have set yourself a hard task.
Just a little factoid, my great grandfather was a Saw dust whole seller, supplied pubs in the centre of Birmingham.
As most have said here, pet shops of gardener.
Hi Peter,
As most have said laser etched. Like Lie Nielsen does on his saws. Logo works well for him. I‘m sure someone like Lasercraft in Hinckley could help.
Dust and rubbish will build up on the motor winding without a bog. This will cause the motor to overheat and melt the insulation on the copper, then fail.
Yes. And any insulation is better than none. Despite what some are saying. The UK is very cold and damp in the winter and any cold metal work will quickly rust.
Yes against the boards. It means you will have to follow the shape of the frame. I should of said membrane not VB.
I built my own home and it is timber construction. The frame manufacturer stressed the importance of the membrane and gave me a history lesson on its development to insure robust...
It sounds like you have worked it out yourself. If you want the building to last you need to try and install a vapour barrier. If you don’t fancy pulling the boards off and doing it that way. I would wrap it internally horizontally and staple it on.
Good luck.
