Yeah I mean the longest the off cuts get is about 500mm the door stops sound good

Sounds like a plan for the long term but I'm very impatient what can I do with green oak that won't be ruined by movement and cracking?

I'm not 100% sure but I think most of out timber is plain sawn at the saw mill

That's a good idea is it possible to season the oak without it splitting if so how long does it take? I'm worried that if I made coasters etc they would cup due to only being thin. Unless of course I was to do endgrain.
