    Hold down for outdoor lathe

Thank you. Perfect for what I had n mind. It's just an old table that I think is kept outside all the time, so drilling a few holes is unlikely to be frowned and these leave no pokie outie bits when not in use

    Hold down for outdoor lathe

I have just joined a local (Australia) mens shed. The actual shed is quiet small but they have two lathes, both donated older Novas. I am looking at moving at least the smaller lathe outside on sunny days (yes they do exist) so I wont be messing up the small shed. A rough but serviceable wood...

    Lathe rest not smooth

That looks like it has (presumably harder steel welded across the top to reduce dings. Is that the case and if so what steel tends to be used?

Kity 664 Lathe Variable Speed Missing Bits ?

I have purchased a Kity 664 lathe in France (not there atm thanks Mr Covid). The variable speed controller does nothing and I suspect bits are missing (not seller's fault, selling off deceased estate and knew even less about it than I do). Does anyone have one of these or have access to one...

    Joke thread

I did a pub crawl of the UK a few years ago in my campervan and was stunned that the Irish didnt run the world, having seen their combined pub and hardware shops. Apparently to get around the times in the licensing laws, they combined both into what must be a perfect place for a man to idle away...

I'm currently covid trapped in Australia but have a little place in France where I have a Kity 664 variable speed lathe. Except the variable speed isnt and as I bought this secondhand, I think i may be missing parts. Does anyone have one working that they could use to give me advice. Much...
