OPJ's right,
I bought 3 bundles of iroko, maple and cedar for £40. When Robbin's have a bundle sell off they normally advertise it on their website so it's worth keeping an eye on that or as suggested just ask what off cuts they have.
I agree with your point on certain phenolics vs MDF tolerance wise Ivan. I've had a look at the Attwater site and got similar information.
Rutlands delivered today and I eagerly unpacked the table top and rout r lift. The table was a bit out by probably 0.5 mm across its length so I was a bit...
Rutlands have been first class so far. They have confirmed the problems with the goods originally supplied and have been talking to Jessem to get the tolerances Jessem work to. Suprisingly the tolerance for the Jessem router table is 1mm. Not sure if that's +-1.00mm or not. This seems a big...
Aftert a phone call to Rutlands they arranged a pick up of the table and rout r lift this afternoon. Hopefully I'll get replacements before the bank holiday as I've got some bedroom furniture to make.
Hi Neil,
I hope this can be sorted out as it's not too much to ask for the price, a flat table and router lift ! :x
I'll talk to Rutlands tomorrow and post the outcome.
Having had my plans to build a router table out of a kitchen worktop scuppered by not being able to flaten the material out I've been looking around for a router table to buy.
After receiving my annual bonus this month and spending 3/4 of it on a holiday to keep the family happy I decided to...
Hi Frugal,
I didn't pick up a price list but most places are much of a muchness for standard materials as Olly has proved.
For me what set this supplier apart was the friendly and helpful way I was dealt with for just one sheet and I canged my mind about the number of cuts I wanted and there...
I think I feel slightly unwell
When did you get these Tenpin as I looked all around my area and couldn't find any at all in the local B&Q stores ?
I used the MOF hand held without the spring in this afternoon Chems, using a bearing guide cutter and template to radius my melamine faced chipboard bookcase. A lot easier than with the spring but I'm not sure what it would be like trying to plunge cut using it. I'll give it a go tomorrow...
Hi Chems,
Half a tank of fuel costs a bit these days and as you say for £14 difference I can't really complain.
My MOF manual says take the spring out for table use so I'm assuming the TRA001 is the same but thanks for the reminder.
All I really need now is some time to spend on my table...
Hi John,
Most owners seem to give them pretty good press as you have done as well so finger crossed.
I just hope my table truns out okay now I've taken the plunge (pardon the pun).
I've got the MOF as well Dave and have been really pleased with that but I wanted a router to permanently mount in a table and one with a bit more grunt at that. The above table cutter change on the Triton as an absolute boon so in a way I think I've got a good router for table use at a good...
Unfortunately I missed out on the B&Q bargains Olly but it's a lot of router for £112 so I'm not too upset.
BTW I went to Bendrys the weekend. Lots of native oak, fir & spruce but little else. However I have found an excellent supplier of ply , verneered pply & mdf as well as kronospan...
Hi All,
I've taken a bit of a gamble today. I have wanted a 2Kw router to fit in my table (under construction) and was moving toward shelling out on a T11 or DW625. I was leaning toward the 625 as I'm going to purchase a Woodpeckers Router Lift and therefore don't need the T11's through table...
